Oh, bless them, I hope they settle overnight. It’s great that they have each other.

Beatrix wrote: Tue Jul 07, 2020 8:46 pm Guinea pigs  the names are excellent. Do they make that silly noise sort of whooping noise?! I hope they settle in quickly.
They were really quiet all the way home (we went to Barry to get them :l: ) and when they were in their hutch, but I think that's ok. They squeal when they are distressed and "wheek" (shorter, going up in pitch) when they are happy

(I'm glad you have been released :)) )

I hope they settle, too. I put the straw from their old home in with the fresh stuff and we were given a bag of their usual food to transition them gradually, so hopefully those things will help.

Oh my god, they're huge! :)) I think I've had some confusion over what a guinea pig is.

Still very nervous but they were fine once we were actually holding them, although Queenie wanted to bury her head in everything. She ran up the inside of TD's hoodie at one point and got herself stuck at the top of his sleeve; luckily he didn't freak out as I couldn't help for a few minutes as I was laughing so hard.

We haven't introduced them yet. I think I'll wait until the pigs are in their garden run, so they can see each other safely and go at their own pace.

I was going to say the same!
I might have been thinking of hampsters.

They do look bigger than they are in those photos, to be fair. They are about 1.25x the length of my hand, but significantly bigger than hamsters or gerbils.
