For those not on FB meet George! He was a complete surprise and I'm still in shock. He's a nine week old Golden Retriever. Very chilled and so far Lily is not too bothered by him.

How precious Jupiter! How did you end up with a surprise dog though?

I've always wanted a retriever and have been dropping hints for ages but E was resistant. But for some reason he changed his mind and him and A spent the last few weeks trying to get one for my birthday.

All the dogs have been in and out this afternoon; Betty was being suspiciously quiet. We went to look for her…

I have a Dunlin or some other Sandpiper n a box on my garden table.

We spotted it in a carpark and were surprised we could get a foot away from it. It just wasn’t scared at all. When we returned hours later it was still in the same place going around in circles and falling over.

I called a sanctuary and an emergency vet and both asked me to take it home for the night.

I really hope he survives until morning when I’ve got an appointment with the vet first thing.

I'm not entirely sure what is going on here. He is folded up very tight but also apparently in charge of the remote.
