I know I am a bit late Est, it looks like you have a good plan of attack.

The Olympics one sounds very exciting! Fingers crossed you get the choice.

Got a verbal job offer today. Which I’ve accepted. But I can’t resign until I get something in writing which may take a while :(

I hope so too! For context two of my team have just moved on and I am running two recruitment processes to fill those gaps. And I’m feeling bad that I’m going to be adding to the headache of resourcing. But I need a new challenge.

Also, you taking on a role they need to fill is good for the organisation anyway.

Thanks all. I’ll be leaving my current agency and joining a central agency that has whole of Government responsibilities. I’m really excited!

Re: Time For A Change
That sounds great and the longer the offer in writing takes, the more chance it gives you to sort out the Olympics one. Which, because you're great, will probably be an option as well

Congrats Est!
I agree with the others too, most employers have no loyalty to their staff and regularly make people redundant/TUPEd/restructured/moved into new roles with a moments notice, so definitely don’t feel bad about it. Or going for the Olympics job!

Re: Time For A Change
Congratulation Est! It will be lovely to have the choice.
I’ve been making noises about starting to look in the NY if we don’t win the most recent bid we worked on in the summer. There’s too many managers and not enough decent jobs.
But then my old LM (she’s still in my reporting line - my new LM reports to her) has confirmed I can start the apprenticeship I’ve been asking for since late 2020. So I’ve just told P that I’ll be staying a while longer.

Re: Time For A Change
Oooh good news, which apprenticeship is it? A Senior Leader one? I'm about 1/3rd of the way in if you want any intel.
I am toying with looking for a new role within my organisation but can't currently decide. It is 80% money motivated and 20% boredom motivated but I guess when the ratios are equal I should definitely start looking
