Congratulations Annabella!

I have just been reading through the contract for my new job too, which arrived last night, so I I will be resigning on Monday. :weewee: After 12 years in the public sector I am moving back to a private sector business. It's going to be quite an adjustment, I imagine! :))

(it's a regulated firm and I will be in their legal team running their regulatory investigations and litigation).

I am also currently applying for a job because it's more money and nearer to home.

Yes, but I am hoping not too horrible! I am deliberately joining a business in a legal role, not going back into a law firm, so there is no pressure on me to bring in business and work all hours in order to keep the clients happy. That really isn’t a job with a work life balance at all.

Having said that though, I am going in at a Senior Director grade, so they are going to have high expectations (I already have a bit of imposter syndrome going on, on my first day I’ll be bricking it  ). But, I know I have the skills and experience they need (it’s a new role), so will just have to fake it till I make it....

No, it'll be the same. At the moment my boss has about 8 people reporting directly into her, and the team also needs to expand/take on permanent roles, so I think the idea is that this new role would report into her and take on the management of 4/5 of those people, another couple of roles will do similar, so she'll just have 3 people reporting into her which is less people management admin for her. So basically just creating a new level of management.

And equally, she can be regraded then as well (the role I am going for is the same grade as her, but she's been working at the grade above for YEARS but just not been recognised for that, although I'm assuming she's been satisfactorily remunerated in the meantime). I do think though that it gives her unrealistic expectations of what she would expect someone at that grade to do though (she is Global Head of <dull as fuck area I work in> which is insane to only be the grade she is) as equally there's people I know at that grade who do next to fuck all (I would prefer to be in that position  )
