Well, it feels really good, but I got a bit emotional when a lovely email went out to the dept today :))

Re: Time For A Change
I have an interview on Thursday for the role that I was approached for, my friend/ ex colleague will be one of the interviewees together with 2 others.
Back in December I booked a flight for this weekend to see my best friend who lives in the capital city of the country referred to in a previous post as the last two weeks at work we had audits and I needed something to look forward to. As I was only a 30 minute train ride away from the city where this job would be based, we went over to local around and it’s absolutely lovely. Small and very studenty- it has the oldest uni in that country- and my ex colleague showed us around the town.
He basically said I’m the only candidate they’re interviewing and has offered to help me prep for Thursday by telling me about the other two. Based on other stuff he’s said he’s extremely keen to have me over there.

Re: Time For A Change
They’ve recruited my replacement at my old Department now. Someone external to government which is interesting. I’m in a weird position in that my new job means I’m all over what’s happening there even though they’re not technically one of my client agencies. It feels a bit weird.

Re: Time For A Change
So I received a verbal offer today and I have verbally accepted. Waiting for the paperwork to come through, including relocation details too- based on previous experience I am signing/ committing to nothing until that happens!

Re: Time For A Change
Thank you. I can’t say too much about it- even within my niche area this is nicher still!- but I’m excited and nervous and a bit scared but mostly really looking forward to new challenges.
