I’ve just had a call to tell me that, pending my completion of a serious disciplinary history declaration, I have a new job I need to keep it under my hat just now as there was another internal candidate. I am slightly terrified about what I have gotten myself into though. It’s totally out of my comfort zone and a big jump up

I think moving up often requires moving on, which is something I have learnt/ observed.

I"m also in awe of the job changes as I've been in my current role for 8 years & at the same company for 13

I think it's really hard to move on after being in one place for so long. I feel stuck where I am even though I could really do with a change.

I think because 3 of the roles were within the same govt department and this new one is in my immediate business area, it doesn’t feel so much like change. But I get it. I’ve also done a couple of lateral moves which I think helped.
