Oh and Del that sounds interesting. I would also love to not work but sadly not an option…

Oh that would be good if you could both move. Fingers crossed!

Good luck Del, I could easily not work too :))

That would be good if you were both in the same country. Could you live somewhere halfway between both your work locations?

Good luck Del!

Getting very ahead of ourselves here!

Looking at a map- I don’t think so. Current commute is 50 minutes on a very good day and I like that time to wake up in the morning.

I'm waiting to hear about a final stage panel interview for a job I'm surprisingly interested in (surprising because I bloody love not working :))). We shall see.
I'm going to do it. Had a coaching session today and the positives outweigh the negatives.

And that's exciting Del, fingers crossed

And for you too! I'm glad you're going forward, sounds like you'd regret it if you didn't at least see what might happen.

That sounds exciting Hazey!

And I’m glad you’ve made a decision Cos.

I now have back to back calls tomorrow. A second call with the consultancy followed by that internal chat.

The consultancy have already sent me a ‘verbal offer’ via email.

I haven’t actually left my job for another unknown quantity job for decades. I’ve either been let go/made redundant first or directly approached. :panic:

I've just accepted so need to wait for the paperwork next week. If my LM's LM does follow up today on the call we just had, then I'm more than comfortable saying I'm unsure about taking on the role and want to think about it until after my holiday. Hopefully she doesn't bother, though I'm dreading the resignation conversation as it will need to be with her as my LM is off next week! I think she thinks she's invested a lot in me and may take it a bit personally...

I've looked at moving into consultancy before but have no background in it so this is a perfect opportunity to get in via my network and see if it's for me. It's a much smaller company than I've worked for before but it will be home based with travel/office visits (generally London) only when necessary. The salary is a little more to balance out the lower pension contribution rate and there's a bonus scheme. And unlimited holiday!

That sounds great - well done Wendy!

I'm not sure when companies who mandate people come back into the office unnecessarily, will realise that it's not always the right/best thing to do.
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either, just fuck off and leave me alone.

My guess would be that there’s no holiday allowance in your salary as such (which should therefore be higher) but there’s no restriction on time off and it just goes as unpaid leave? Or there is a holiday allowance but you can take extra unpaid leave as much as you like / agree with LMs.

Wends can advise of course. I think Del had an unlimited holiday arrangement at her previous job also.

Anyway, congrats to Wendy! Now fingers crossed for smunder’s lottery recipient.
