My friend qualified as a counsellor/therapist a few years ago now and has waiting lists and regular clients and it doing very well for herself.

The change in her is also amazing to see.

You'll be absolutely fine, baa. It's daunting setting up your own business but you'll be able to pick who you see, when you see them and how many people you aee. It'll life changing but in a good way.
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either, just fuck off and leave me alone.

I haven't told everyone yet, and am controlling the flow of info til I've told all the people I want to tell to their faces. But everyone is basically devastated/really sad, but all completely get it.

I'm not surprised that they're devastated! You'll be a big loss.

Omg. My line manager just offered me a gig offering supervision as a private supervisor. To the same service I am trying to leave  no ta

She was like "I'm sure you want a clean break, and do say no if that is what you want to do, but would you be interested...?"

Well done, baar. Exciting times! And how satisfying that they clearly don't want to let you go!

Oh I told my poor lovely colleagues. No one predicted it, and their faaaces

The first half of the meeting was a fucking shambles though as an upper manager came and was a fucking nightmare  so that helped.

Just my supervisees to tell next week. Oof.

I tried to resign today & sat my boss down to tell him. He was horrified & asked if there was anything he could do to change my mind :)) So we had a good honest chat & I said it was the workload plus the back to the office mandate, and to cut a long story short, he’s going to take some tasks off me, I’m putting in a flexible working request to work one day a week from home because of my current circumstances*, and when my colleague returns from maternity leave later in the year I can potentially go down to 4 days a week. So I didn’t resign :perky:

*my mum has got breast cancer for the 2nd time. It’s very early stage & pre-invasive, so she should be ok after an op and some radiotherapy :fc:
