I think going back to the recruiting manager is the best plan. They’re often unaware of back and forths between HR and the preferred candidate and might be able to knock a few heads together for you.

I’ve been offered the role and have accepted. It’s 6 months but the Project Director has told me it will be extended to the end of the project. Of course my line manager is on leave for the rest of the week and my Director (next in reporting lines) was out on unplanned leave today so I shall have to negotiate my release from my substantive position tomorrow (I’ll not be resigning, but asking to go on secondment which hopefully should be ok since it’s within the department and higher level which they’re not meant to refuse).

Thanks :) I was pretty happy in my current role, but the guy I’ll be working for is great and it’s a super interesting (and very high profile) project so it makes sense to go for it.

Congratulations, Est!

I have an interview on Friday for an accounts administrator role working for a really nice hotel in the area. It's a slightly longer commute and I would more than likely have to give up my current guiding commitments (I'd probably look for something closer to home or work).

I had my nails done on Monday and they are currently a fetching shade of blue so I may need to get that rectified before I go.

Good Luck Skips!
Hope it all works out for the best Suzi!

I have resigned and will finish 16 December - too chaotic for me so looking around, will tap into my network and have look to hopefully start something new in January

My interview has been cancelled as they have filled the role.

But, another company has asked if I can go and see them and I suggested tomorrow which works!

As mentioned on the daily thread at the time, they were meant to be interviewing someone else on monday but that got moved to today.

I didn't get it.

I’m finishing up at my current role a week today. My boss is being a bit of a dick about it. He’s saying the *right* things but his manner has totally changed. Thing is, it’s only a secondment so I’ll be back. If I’d resigned I bet he would be even more off with me.

God, imagine being insecure enough to be a dick about it when a member of your team is doing well and progressing.

I know, right? He knows the right things to say. But it’s blatantly obvious they’re being said because he feel he has to.

If it goes well, it will be extended to April 2021. At which point if I’m enjoying being back in project delivery, I will obvs look for something else. But he doesn’t know that. And there’s also an election next year which might change everything.
