I'm sorry, Skips. That is incredibly frustrating.

I'm so upset, I thought I had a chance to escape where I am now, but no. If they rejected me from the outset that would have been fine, I apply for a lot of roles and don't get invited for an interview and it doesn't upset me as it's part of the filtering process. I just don't know what else to do, keep slogging but it's soul destroying, especially as there is nothing I can change according to feedback.

Skips, I'm so sorry. They could see what qualifications/experience you had, FFS. Why interview you in the first place?

Would any sort of virtual PA role be something you'd be interested in, maybe? Could you work for yourself?

I hated working from home and it wasn't good for my mental health, I definitely need to go to an office.

I had my interview today and I think it went pretty well, it overran though and I’m trying to work out if that’s a bad thing. I did my IOSH course and have passed the exam but am still waiting for my project to be assessed. I made a point of telling them that in my presentation, and I think they liked the ideas I presented. I want this job so much.

Hopefully towards the end of next week. I just know I’d be good at the job, and I hope my answers conveyed that.

How’s your new job going, Shoe? What did your old boss say when you told her?

So good. :hbeat: Thank you for asking. Although I'm absolutely shattered hence being MIA online. :))

Everyone is lovely and they've basically said I can change any processes I want or create new ones. Essentially, anything I'm going to be involved in or in charge of they've already given me full control of and said I can do it all my way. They're all really friendly and the guy I'll be working most closely with and who is training me is great. I think we'll work really well together. It's been better than I expected, I'm so pleased.

My boss said she wasn't surprised I'd got something quickly and thought it sounded like a role of be good at. She was very nice about it all. I think the guilt of making me redundant had set in by that point so she was relieved.

That's fantastic, Shoe!

:fc: Suzi

I am thinking about a change but I'm limited due to childcare options. One of the pros of where I am currently is that I've established that I'm reliable etc so they are OK with last minute leave etc. Someone I know at the hospital has let me know they're recruiting for bank staff. It is usually the best way into something permanent there but it is only temporary. I'm permanent where I am so it would be a big risk. I'm also wondering about going freelance, possibly initially via people per hour but I'd need to sort out some home working stuff which will have cost implications I'm not sure I can afford at the moment.

Well I passed my IOSH managing safely course, so I have another qualification on my CV if nothing else!

That sounds like a complicated situation Teasel.
