Good luck to S! Is he civil service? They have really elaborate systems, don’t they! Mr L is CS too.

I think I will get a treat but not sure what! Maybe another bag

This job isn't civil service the recruitment process is similar. Many stages. Apparently there are recorded questions and he has a timer counting down on the screen to answer them. If he gets through to the next round he'l have a second online interview but with an actual panel of people.

I had to do one of those once, it was easier than a real interview though. It had a Japanese name, I think (the type of interview). Weirdly, when I got the job they told me loads of people had fucked it up by e.g. doing the interview in the garden while there were workmen operating diggers .

I think I might prefer an interview like that. No people!

Sounds like some good changes here.

S said it was ok! But right after he had a call with someone in DC about a job coming up there and I’d rather that than Paris :shh:

So the saga of my secondment continues and I am really frustrated/upset.
Basically all secondments are on hold until June/July to resolve issues with general recruitment and back filling roles. My senior manager is looking for alternative solutions but I am not building my hope.

That's awful. They shouldn't be stringing you along like that. They must realise that it's the sort of thing that can lead to people getting frustrated and moving on.

Oh no, Wiggle. I'm sorry. That's so unfair and frustrating.

I'm ignoring all talk of emma potentially leaving the country again :lalala:

So I have an update on my secondment...my replacement should be signing their contracts in the next day or so.
This means I should be starting my secondment in early June.

Keep your fingers crossed for me!

My replacement starts on Wednesday and i start some time June. My new manager was surprised to hear they had found someone, he wasn't expecting anything to occur for another few months, so a nice result.
Thanks for all the positive thoughts!

Congratulations Wiggle!

Well, after 12 years of less than gainful non employment, I have a job again! Part-time covering half my friend’s role while she’s on adoption leave, but it sounds really interesting.
