Also I got refunded the Holiday Inn hotel tickets that cost me over £340 for my mum and I to stay one night near Wembley Arena for the concert. More than one person pointed out that I could have paid half of that for a taxi to drive her home to Dorset, or drive us to mine.

I think I was drunk when I booked it all.

Nice one. It was a kind thought, but I’m glad you got the money back.

I'll try and book it again for her next year, but in a slightly more cost effective way.

Inviting her to your flat to watch him on DVD? ;)

 she has all his concerts recorded on Sky. I'll go to hers.

I do feel sad for her. My dad never did nice things with her and I just wanted to push the boat out. I was fucking dreading it though.

We’re going on holiday! :perky: To North Wales, and apocalypse dependent :)) but it’s still a holiday. Family friends need a house sitter for a week in August for their 2 dogs, and they live in a beautiful place and have a baby a month younger than Hop so it’s basically a lift and shift for us to a lovely place, fully family friendly and with bonus dogs. My dad and stepmum will probably come too, so if pubs and things really will be open by then we might even get a dinner out in the real world as a couple which we haven’t done in over a year.

We’re at the end of what would’ve been our two weeks in Austria so we’ve already had the staycation experience at home, and it’s been nice but a change of scene will be so amazing by the time August comes around.

That sounds great, Leap!

That's sounds good Leap.

We've just booked to go back to the place we were at when lockdown was announced! Get ready for a second wave around the last week of September

I've decided if it all kicks off again, we are staying put!
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either, just fuck off and leave me alone.

We’ve had our refunds from Virgin Atlantic today! They’re credited back to the original credit card, so now we have to get that turned into real money, but fingers crossed it won’t be too hard. 15 weeks, that took.

If anybody else here is still waiting, I hope you’re next!

A change of scenery is what I'm after, and is why we'll still be going camping on the couple of trips we've already booked. We've been to both campsites before, so know they are big enough (and plenty of facilities) that we can keep our distance from others. We won't be adding to the tourists descending on small coastal towns (like we usually would!), but will stick to the campsite and quiet/outdoor places within walking distance.

Enjoy Wales, and thank goodness for that Ella!

Hooray Ella! We've not had ours yet, but we've had to go through a third party agent so no idea when we'll get our refund back - our flights were a bit after yours as well.

We've got one (pre-booked) camping trip in mid August. A couple of my friends are driving to Italy and France respectively for their summer holidays (accommodation was booked before this all kicked off in both cases) and I did spend a couple of days pricing up Eurocamp in Normandy/ Brittany for late August via the Tunnel. We've decided against it though, partly because Mr P's job is still uncertain (he works in travel and they've just rolled their 4 days weeks on for a further 3 months), plus things are just too up in the air for us personally.

Qantas finally agreed to a refund this week rather than a credit for my friend who had to cancel her trip in March when Aussies were told to not leave the country. Our federal consumer agency forced their arm.

We are going away on Thursday and I’m beyond excited. We are camping and will limit our use of facilities (we have a shower in our van) and have a load of hand sanitiser.

I really wish someone would bequeath us a camper van or holiday home.

Excellent news, Ella!
