Thank you all for this; my friends are especially excited about the wanky coffee shops, the weirdos.

Full court press is so wanky they don't even do tea.

Is that the place S took me to 100 years ago? To be fair, it was a bloody good cup of coffee.

I think it was Del. a vast array of tools with which to make coffee, including those stupid long spouted jugs for pouring perfecting etc.
The whole thing makes me angry and laugh in equal measure. It's so exclusionary but also so ridiculous in it's rituals and terminology.

It was the height of wankerdom for sure
(plain white interior, on the side of the market I think?).

That's excellent news Marth, I hope he enjoys it. I saw the pub up near me was looking for someone too.

He gets paid under £10 per hour for being shift supervisor where he is at the moment, and despite working all the hours could not meet the wage threshold to rent his bedsit without me being guarantor.
I'm really pleased for him, as it's more money (though not massively more) and I hope it works out.

We’re literally around the corner from the Albion pub so may well go there for a drink later.

Re: Bristol recommendations?
We walked through Birdcage Walk earlier, it was right by the flat we stayed in. I didn’t care much for the book, but it was a nice little walk.
We had breakfast both days at Saffron Café on Boyce’s Ave. it was delicious. We were going to go somewhere else this morning but realised in time that it was plant based.
We did go in the Albion, but my friends weren’t bothered. I don’t know why, I liked it.
All in, it was lovely & I would happily go back. I’d recommend the Airbnb we booked too.
