Is that the one with the Etches (so?) collection?

Enjoy Dorset! I stayed at Lytchett a couple of years ago and it was lovely.

We were meant to be going to Dorset to stay with my friend this summer. We've been there a few times in recent years. I'm quite sad we are not going. I love the Jurassic coast, Swanage and Corfe castle. There's a lot of geography down there. :))

Yep!

I have very fond memories of holidays in Lyme Regis and Swanage

We have been so lucky with the weather in Whitstable this week. Although we have ended up being visited by people every day, my brother turned up with his boys totally uninvited today! I’ve not seen my brother for ages so after I got over the shock it was lovely.

HOW on earth did he just rock up uninvited?

My mum told him we were in Whitstable. He called me at 12 to say he was here, where were we? :mog:

That’s kind of sweet. I quite like my brother currently though.

He is thankfully staying at his MIL’s in Rochester. He came back after the beach and I could see him clocking the bed situ (they stayed over before when we stayed here 5 years ago) But I was like we have dinner reservations, lovely to see you - see you soon! 👋

We have just booked 4 nights in an apartment on the west coast of Scotland, for September. I am really looking forward to it although it will probably rain the entire time

:)). My brother is quite the fan of announcing on a Thursday that he’ll come up and visit that weekend (pre-COVID) and always seems surprised that we already have plans he’ll need to fit in around :ella:

I know it’s not the same as ceasing to operate, but Virgin Atlantic has filed for bankruptcy protection in the US and wants to restructure.

Yes, I saw that yesterday. We've still not got our refund from them via Travel Up. I've also read into Travel Up and the £50 'admin fee' to get a refund and there are loads of people pissed off about it because they've changed the T&Cs to introduce it (it was nothing, then £75 plus 2% of the refund, then they reduced it to £50 flat fee). I think we've got 120 days to put in a s75 request, so we'll give them another couple of weeks before submitting that. I'm guessing I need to go down the travel insurance route first as well though?

You don't have to go through travel insurance first. I'd start with the credit card company. Why should you pay any fees?

Do a chargeback, Flora. Travel Up should not be charging fees but they are well known to have dodgy practices!

Travel insurance would be unlikely to pay out anything COVID related.

Oh interesting! I’m still waiting on a refund for a flight from them, and admittedly I haven’t rang them but I’ve emailed about 46 times and used their online form a few times and no response whatsoever, I think I will need to do that too. That’s a ridiculous admin fee too, I know businesses are struggling but they can get to fuck. When I booked the flight I forgot to add on baggage and they were so unhelpful then too, I had to just contact the airline myself and do it that way. (Which I got refunded months ago and they told me they had already refunded travelup too).

Our flights to Thailand at the end of October have just been cancelled. We weren't intending on going but it shows that some countries are not banking on this going away anytime soon.
