The Good Life (gardening chat)

Incorporating hobbies, computer games, Verm's Interesting Links and anything else you can think of excluding football and other spectator sports because these belong in the Sport section, but allowing sports you play yourself with your own body as that counts as a pastime.

So this all came out of the greenhouse  I'm making The Bf look for a mini greenhouse as I'm having a space issue

And I'm gonna get a new, bigger greenhouse this winter. It has been decided.

I like your orange and cream balls, Pawpads.
Thank you. They are ranunculus.

So much stuff, Baa!

My Californian poppies are back! They are so cheery. They self seed every year against the wall of our house.

They're so cheery!

I've rammed most stuff back in. I need to set up the watering system, but I might die if I do that now.

I have an mini greenhouse made from bits from behind the shed :))

And I've sorted my window boxes. That plant (nicotiana) is potentially not well suited to basket life, and I may struggle to see out the window once it's fully grown

Ah yes, I did know - once you'd told me :fish: - but I do like the roundness of them.

All this lovely work! I've just killed my back planting five things, and need a sitdown.

Today I saw a cat eating bits of one of my plants. I was bemused. Eventually I remembered what it was called...nepeta... looked it up and realised its catnip  I had no idea

I had to remove the catnip I planted out as I had every cat in the neighbourhood sauntering down my path looking for a fix. They decimated it in a day anyway and it was a stump that still attracted the cats until I got rid.

Really! I'll have to monitor its desirability. I'm sure its been there a few years without turning the garden into a crack house but this cat was proper munching it :look:

These really don't seem like cat foods!

She doesn't always seem like a cat. :))

The rocket was in preference to grass when she was a bit poorly and the oregano comes into play when she doesn't like her tea. Flavour, human.

I cut this (peony?) back quite a bit and it’s come back with a vengeance. I’m guessing it needs some sort of support to stop it flopping out like this?

Yeah I've got some plant stand things I slot in when the plant is coming through so it can lean against them. It's beautiful!

That's gorgeous! You get sort of half circle stand things to hold them up. I'll try and search but I don't know what they're called. :)
