The Good Life (gardening chat)

Incorporating hobbies, computer games, Verm's Interesting Links and anything else you can think of excluding football and other spectator sports because these belong in the Sport section, but allowing sports you play yourself with your own body as that counts as a pastime.

They look great!

Mr Sax had two beans in his dinner the other night. The rest are coming and I’ve planted more.

Our raspberries are a late variety so won’t be ripe for a while yet. The lettuce went mad with last week’s rain but everyone’s eating it so it’s all good.

My peas and beans are miles off too! The rasps look amazing. I have such a soft spot for them as we always had loads as a kid. They taste like pure nostalgia for me

We’ve had several courgettes, loads of lettuce and a few cucumbers so far. It’s definitely helping this year that we’re at home, like, all the bloody time.

Also! Jasmines are in. S is going to set up the wire trellis next weekend but it might be a while before we get the finished effect

Beatrix wrote: Sun Jun 21, 2020 5:34 pm Oh fresh peas! My mum has been picking half a kilo of raspberries every day for the last week, from three plants.

We have lots of black currants ripening, it’s the first year I’ll pick them - it was a new plant last year.
Ooh lovely. I love black currants. I've got a little red currant but no black.

One day, smal

I have late rasps, and always forget to pick them. We're drowning in strawbs though, the sugar snaps have started (popping peas are a bit of a way off). SO MUCH pak choi.

I sorted my solar powered watering system for the greenhouse today, I thought I'd better get in there before the hot week.

2 beans and those raspbs

I love who I'm assuming is S standing admiring his work in the reflection.

Yes, I am man. I use power tools

Oh my god, SO much garlic! Amazing. I'm so jealous of your space baa. Your veg looks brilliant. I moved a rose and it was very sorry for itself for ages but I kept watering and feeding it and it suddenly decided it was fine again.

I had late, golden raspberries for a while but they were so late I also forgot to pick them very often.

Baaa that all looks amazing! :ready:

I finally own a spade, trowel etc so have begun the long, arduous process of rescuing my garden. There is SO much weeding to do. I have almost filled the garden wheelie bin and I’ve done about 5%. However I have bought window boxes and planted them with Sweet Williams

I love those window boxes, Nine. Very stylish. And Smal's wee trachelospermums are v. cute.

I'm always impressed by all the successful fruit and veg growing. I do have raspberries which perform well, and a few herbs, but that's it.

The rain has made everything very happy here, so it'll be nice to look at for the next few days of sun. And my water butt is full again. :perky:
