They're high maintenance if you want to keep fish in them and not kill them, but a wildlife pond isn't that high maintenance, as long as you build it properly in the first place and don't site it under something that sheds into it constantly.
And newts, which are protected, prefer a slightly murky and ill kempt pond, which is probably why I have so many of them.

It's amazing isn't it. I planted a single knobby root years and year ago and it only bloomed for the first time last year. Despite not blooming, the foliage was becoming bigger and bigger so I moved it after the petals fell last year so I'm pleased it's ok. It's thriving actually and I noticed that I must have inadvertently split it last year as there are small blades of foliage in the original site I saw earlier.

There are some gorgeous gardens and plants on here.
I had a load of photos on my phone earlier this week and then I updated the software and they've all disappeared. Anyway, here are a couple of pics of my plants. I have all of next week off and I'm hoping I can get out and weed.
They also appear to be upside down.

The pink flowers? Black sambuca/ elder.
I like your orange and cream balls, Pawpads.

Thanks. I have sambuca too but too young to flower and didn't recognise it.

How are people's farmer gracy bulbs doing? My Ranunculus ones have dissolved into mush.
My dahlias have finally made an appearance! I'd given up on one because I had a prod around in the pot and couldn't find it, but lo and behold, they're there.

My dahlias have not really appeared and I've been swearing at them daily. All my gladioli are doing amazingly well though, can't wait for flowers

I planted out my Dahlias and geranium. This of course meant the weather went hideous. I hope they survive, it's so windy outside.

My pop-up greenhouse blew to the other side of the garden even though it was weighted down and caused a bit of damage, but we managed to salvage our toms and a few other seedlings.
Looks good Smal.

They're a bloody devil for that Duo. I weigh ours down and tie it to things. I've had a few disasters in the past.

The weights we'd added to the bottom were no match for the 40+mph gusts we've had over the past two days.
I've got the toms indoors and the seedlings have been on the go for a while so can be planted out. I've got the frame back up and just need to get the cover back out the shed.

It has been so windy, Shoe.
So many seedlings, Smal! I need to sort my seedlings out tomorrow. They're currently in the attic bedroom which gets ferociously hot.
