What’s next? :))
I signed up for an RHS certificate in horticulture, so I'm on to big plants now.

Oh baa, that is incredible! You must be so pleased with it.

H1ppy, I love the colours you've chosen - they are much nicer than the one on the picture.

I see what you mean about getting the pattern in your head. For something like that I might write out the instructions (I don't like charts other than for colourwork) and then copy them into a table, repeated by the number of rows I need to do, ie if it is a 10 row pattern for 100 rows I just copy and paste times ten. Then I cross out each row as I knit it. That way, if I forget which row I should be on I can see at a glance what I'm doing.

Another tip is to put a lifeline in every so often. You can do this just by threading a bit of dental floss under the stitches on the needle using a sewing up needle, or if you are using interchangeables there is often a special little hole to thread the lifeline through and it appears as you knit.

Lifelines mean that if you go wrong on a lacy pattern you can take it back to a safe place, as ripping out lace is a Grade A nightmare. Sorry if all of that is teaching you to suck eggs :)).

Definitely finish it though - it will be a lovely jumper, and really useful.

Thanks, Morgs. I know about lifelines but haven’t used one for years, I think I threaded a contrasting yarn colour through rather than floss. I haven’t done any knitting for yonks so all the little tips and tricks are a bit rusty.

The lace pattern is a 16-row repeat but only varies on the RS, the reverse is just all st st, i.e. purl, now that I’m past the end of the side vent (prior to that there’s a side rib). I’m keeping track in a little notebook which has the odd numbers written down then I’m putting a mark against each when I do it. The front and back panels are supposed to be the same but I’m making the back a couple of inches longer, as I prefer that look.

It's amazing baa! The RHS course sounds great too - I'd love to do something similar at some point.

That’s amazing baa, it must feel like such an achievement!

Elvis wanted to wear her cardigan today, so at least it hasn’t ended up on the making up pile.

The middle section is done first then the top/bottom bits and she asked for the different colour. I think all one colour would have been nicer but it’s not for me.

Oh those are lovely, bean. Good skills.

And I just adore that greenhouse, baa! I wish I’d seen it to send to a friend months ago as she would have loved it as a lockdown project.

I'm having a bash at Japanese stab binding now. It is HARD. It involves maths.
