As mentioned on the daily thread I’ve found a pile of old dressmaking patterns at my mum’s. I don’t sew at all so if anyone would like them please say.

They are amazing, Tex. Was your mum a keen dressmaker?

I love them but none of them will fit my girth. I think the Calvin Klein /Vogue dresses are very Thatcheresque

She used to make loads years ago. I think she made her wedding dress, def my first communion dress and loads of my clothes. I’ve got her sewing machine packed up as well although I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it.

That's lovely. My mum was the same. I learnt all my practical and crafty skills from herand she made us loads. She's given me her digital machine and I gave her my manual machine, but very sadly I think even that's beyond her now.

I’ve got my nan’s machine here as well. Pre electric. No idea what I will do with that either but I didn’t want to leave it.

They are. The model on the right even has a slightly over excitable Thatcheresque hairdo

Those patterns are amazing. I wish I had the skills to use them.
