Zirk said he sounded like a robot voice, not real.

He is really making me angry. It's all down to us to get our (unavailable) boosters and he's washing his hands of it, it's all our fault. And saying the NHS is wrong to say they're at breaking point and he won't do as they ask, but won't give his reasons for this.

My father in law has just tested positive.

Me and Zirk are in the clear though so I obviously just have this cold virus.

Oh no, I'm sorry - is he vulnerable? I'm glad you and Zirk are ok though.

And no - I said earlier today that I assumed it would just be hot air. It still makes me angry though.

He's not too bad at the moment and not especially vulnerable aside from being in his 70s. Hopefully he will just get a light dose. But it shows that there really is no 'normal' yet.

I'm glad you and Zirk are ok and hope your FIL isn't too badly affected.

I heard this week that Y6 in my boys’ old primary school (so only 1 class) had 15 out including the teacher. The school next door (YR-4) was missing 12% of pupils and all the office staff.

Symptoms have really kicked in now and I had a really strong positive LFT so it’s back to the testing centre.

Get well soon Tex.

I may have come across a bit smug in earlier posts, it wasn't my intention but numbers overall in Germany are up to 20,000 new cases yesterday nationwide (although the population is bigger than the UK by nearly a quarter I *think*) Also, the first case in my circle of friends/ acquaintances here was reported, my friend thinks she got it while out on the Reeperbahn* (surprise surprise) at a 2G controlled place.

2G basically means vaccinated against or recovered from Covid and requires a Doctor's certificate . For while Germany's strategy was to allow people into places based on 3G controls- vaccinated, recovered or tested but in an effort to push vaccination, the government has stopped free testing. And places like bars, cinemas and other services are being pushed to allow 2G in their establishments by allowing more people in and the advantage for customers is that you don't have to wear masks or keep a distance. (that doesn't apply to Supermarkets, shops like Boots/Superdrug etc. and pharmacies and public transport- masks and distancing still apply there.) So I'm not sure how my friend got it in a 2G place and I have to say I'm not thrilled at the idea and don't really want to go places that have it.

*The Reeperbahn is the most notorious street in the whole of Germany, the main street in the party district where there's lots of bars and houses of ill repute.

What a farce, Tex. And obviously not what you need when you feel crappy. Hope you feel better soon.

My kids school got a positive case yesterday (their first), and I spent the evening phone-watching in case either of them were close contacts. But obviously not. Phew! Cases do seem to be rising in elementary schools here, but not high schools.
