October exercise

Post by Estrella »

A whole shiny new month! I nearly died after my run on Tuesday - I had A Day at work and was wiped out before I even started which is probably why. It was goal pace with warm up/cool down - 75 mins/12.5km.

Spin tonight, it was hard!

Gym yesterday so I guess that was technically September.

Class this morning, strict press and clean/jerk practice. Main work out was box step overs and dumbbell snatches.

Dance Step this evening. The tempo is staying up and my goodness it’s fast!

I’ve booked clubbercise for Saturday morning with a Radio 1 DJ at the local leisure centre.

I changed my Garmin work outs because coach Greg was clearly trying to kill me andy status was 'overreaching' I'm doing the daily suggested workouts on HR which is a little more gentle but seems to be lacking in variation at the moment. I'll see how it goes

I’m in a love/hate with Coach Greg. I found my DSWs harder though. So maybe he doesn’t push me enough.

Anyway. Today has been a supremely shitty day. But I got my run done. It was 50 mins progression and I couldn’t quite hit the hardest pace but I managed 8.6km.

Spin tonight, I went to a different class to my usual Thursday class. The instructor was a girl who did my last gym programme review, and although she was a bit "woop-woop" for my liking, I liked her class. It was quite tough too.

A fab workout this morning and absolutely buzzing. Deadlift PB for 1 rep using an axle bar (more rigid than a standard bar and a wider grip ) got to 80kg. Plus 3 sandbags to shoulder at 40kg, a few months back that would have been impossible. The coach was really impressed.

Tomorrow will be interesting, my PT is going to test how far away I am away for the entry standard for a first timer strong woman competition. I would have 6.5months to train if I decide to do it.

You could easily do a beginners one now wiggle!

It’s a shame you’re so far away from me. I’m doing one next March.

Exciting! Which one? Have they shared the standards and if so can you share so I can compare?

Bodypump just about ended me this morning so well done!

We’ve been promised the new Balance next week too. Which good because I am mightily sick of the current one.

That’s so interesting about the lifting comps.

It was long run day today. I did just over a half marathon. Set a HM PB too. 21.43km/2:06:23 (my half time was 2:04:14 according to my watch)

Well the verdict is in, I will be training for the competition in April. It will be a close call whether to enter as a first time or a novice. Excited and nervous in equal parts, it's going to be tough and amazing.

So to keep myself accountable l'm afraid you will all be hearing a lot more from me on my training :)

Good luck Wiggle!

Clubbercise was fun. I am so uncoordinated. I did actually tell Charlie Hedges that it was better than the daytime clubbing last week and she gave me a high five. :dotty:

That’s exciting, Wiggle. It will be nice to have a goal to aim for.

Today was a rest day after yesterday’s big run. I took S out for a week 3km easy trot.

After a couple of weeks of being too drained to do anything more than yoga, I took Elvis to the virtual studio and introduced her to Trip, Sh’bam and Body Balance. I survived, just.

It’s my half in a week and I’m under trained so will just be aiming to get round. At least I know my trainers, clothing, waist bag and gels are all fine from the couple of long run/walks I did manage to do.
