That must have been dreadful, I’m sorry. At least I can enjoy things with texture - crackers, raw veg etc - even if everything just tastes of nothing.

Aside from my parents, everybody I know who has recently had it has been travelling. You, Epp, my sister who just came back from the Canary Islands.
Glad you're over the worst.

No one here has had it recently but L’s friend was sent home from college (he boards weekly) yesterday.

Losing your sense of taste sounds very odd. I hope it goes back to normal soon!

Oh no, Tex. I hope he doesn’t feel too ill. It seems never-ending (which I suppose it is if it has, or will, become endemic).

He doesn’t seem too bad thank you. He has a sore throat and sniffles and he’s complaining or bad earache which is miserable but he’s up and about (or would be if we hadn’t told him to stay in his room ). He doesn’t have a temperature which is interesting as that’s always been quite a given.

Oh no! I hope it’s not too bad.
I felt so much better on Friday, but then my temperature went up on Friday night and yesterday I felt really quite poorly. I’m still testing positive, still can’t taste or smell anything. I would quite like this to be gone now.

It feels like forever but in actual fact it’s only been seven days that I’ve been ill.

L just retested as he was thinking of working on the farm tomorrow and it’s still a really strong positive. He feels more or less back to normal.

Yep, I made 11 days of a strong positive LFT despite having no symptoms! I thought I'd go crazy by day 12 when it finally turned!
I remember it was around the time that Ella (I think) was saying that LFTs were useless and wouldnt pick up Covid etc and it kept making me laugh because mine would turn positive within seconds

Re: Testing times - Covid in 2022
I still can't taste or smell anything and though I joke about it with everyone, I'm really finding it hard. I have chocolate cravings but eating chocolate doesn't stop them. I might just as well be eating soap. I'm living on crisps and toast - anything with texture.
And my memory is shot to pieces. As well as forgetting everyday things and words in English, I seem to have regressed in French which is a bit upsetting. I was assessed at C1 just three weeks ago, and now I think I'd be assessed at A2/B1. I can't remember basic vocabulary and I'm making elementary mistakes. Sorry for the self-indulgent rant.
