Re: Covid-19
I spoke too soon. Surgeon came round, it was dead and gangrenous, so we're here for at least two days of IV antibiotics. Still, it's out before it caused issues!
Thank you all
Thank you all

I mostly did because my friend told me to. I thought he was being dramatic and gave him a buscopan.

Bloody hell! I think that’s the natural maternal reaction though.

It's mine anyway Honestly, he hasn't seemed ill. NHS 24 sent us to the GP as a precaution, they sent us here as a precaution, and the surgeon said it was best to take an appendix out in case it was bad. Nobody thought he was actually properly ill

That's quite scary! I always imagine you'd be in agonising delirium by the time it got that bad.

When the GP sends you to the hospital "as a precaution" they have normally done some Jedi mind trick on you to keep you calm. Were they very reassuring but weirdly insistent? "I'd go now, don't go later there will be a queue, I'll just give them a quick ring and tell them you're coming, probably best to pop your phone charger in your bag - you know what waiting times are like."Smunder Woman wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 4:45 pm It's mine anyway Honestly, he hasn't seemed ill. You are very brave. I think it's 100% normal to cry your eyes out if they anaesthetise your child.

Oh Smunder, that all sounds terrifying - I’m glad he’s ok. Agree with ruby re the crying at the general anaesthetic.

No, they told me not to bother going to get stuff because we'd be home once they confirmed it was just glands or something. They probably did Jedi mind trick me though, I'm not very bright about these thingsRuby wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 5:20 pmWhen the GP sends you to the hospital "as a precaution" they have normally done some Jedi mind trick on you to keep you calm.
