This was the guidance I was given. I thankfully tested negative on my last day and the subsequent days after.

Yes, I'm surprised at the official figures. I think people aren't reporting positive cases, or testing.

When I let Liv's class what's app group know she was positive I was surprised that people asked if I tested her regularly and said their kids hated it so they didn't do it.

This is infuriating! What child - or adult! - doesn’t hate it?! Selfish pricks.

Yeah Liv doesn't actively enjoy it :))

I guess there will be no point in anyone testing though after covid isolation ends so it doesn't matter now anyway

And that is how he’s going to claim ‘world beating’ low numbers when, in reality, the UK will be a festering pit of covid.

I hate him so much.

Does this mean there won’t be any more boosters?

I had imagined there would be one each year, like the flu vaccine. But who knows?

But now that it’s all “gone away”, we won’t need them, right?

Well, I am almost certain I’ve got it. I got a bit sniffly last night and have had on/off waves of sneezing and congestion today. I’m a bit tired but I am most days so I don’t know if that’s different. I tested negative by LFT yesterday lunchtime, but it might have been too soon. I am going to wait until the morning to test again as I’m supposed to be going into the office tomorrow and I want to give anything more time to develop, if it is COVID, so I get a result I can feel more confident in. There is a chance it’s just a cold, especially as I went for a run yesterday lunchtime and it was COLD and I often (in the past) got an immunological dip after a chilly run. But usually that goes after about 24 hours.

Flatmate was still testing positive on Day 10 (yesterday) but has been a bit slapdash with the masks inside since she got back, and by day 9 had basically given up wearing a mask in common areas in the flat. I’ve stayed in my room as much as possible since she got back on Friday :lg: and have been wearing a mask outside my room much of the rest of the time but have come out to eat a few times. If I’m positive I am going to find it hard not to be really angry with her.

:blah:

I hope you’re ok, Epp. It’s a horrible prospect.

A has just tested positive. I want to burn everything to the ground.

I wouldn't blame you for being angry, Epp! :fc: for you.

No, cluef! You poor thing! I mean, poor A too, obviously, but I presume this means you'll be doing all the childcare for the foreseeable.

I think I’m just going to leave them all at home and go out until he’s better.

Sounds like a plan, cluef.

Epp, I hope you don't have it.

Ontario has gone all Hunger Games again, but instead of searching for vaccines we're searching for rapid antigen test kits. They have rolled them out to lots of grocery stores and pharmacies. I went to 3 yesterday and none of them had any. It's not feasible to just drive around town looking for the damn things like a big covidy scavenger hunt that doesn't seem possible to win. And the bounty is just one kit per household.

I can’t believe he didn’t have the decency to catch it while the rest of us were trapped too. So rude.

Poor Pete has picked up another grot and she wasn’t even over covid yet. It does feel a bit like the house of plague here.

Oh no Epp, I really hope you haven't got it! And if you have, then I hope this will be the extent of your symptoms. Did you swab your tonsils for the test? One of Mr D' colleagues had a positive PCR and as he had a huge stack of LFTs he decided to do an experiment - with one he only swabbed his tonsils and with another only his nose. The tonsil one was the only one that came up positive.

We are all suffering from various post-Covid ailments. On Sunday afternoon Jake went to bed feeling really sick and ended up sleeping for 17 hours. The next morning he was still feeling sick so he didn't eat till lunchtime. He stayed at home for 3 days with nausea, splitting headaches, painful breathing and extreme fatigue. Joe went to school for 2 days and practically collapsed after cycling home on Tuesday, so I had him at home for two days with headaches, dizziness, nausea and fatigue. Mr D also has splitting headaches and is achey. I have a sore throat, swollen glands and I'm so, so tired. Does anyone know what things are good to eat/drink after having had Covid?

Sorry Dutchie, that all sounds hideous. We had lots of chicken noodle soup here. And wine. But mostly for the adults.

Just to counter Dutchie, I could barely wave my lft at my nose and it would still scream Covid.
