Great news Dics!

You can now book on the NHS site if you are 21 or over. I’ve just got Mr C to prod Eldest to book :perky:

I thought I heard on the news this morning, that it had gone down to 21+. It's so good.

I've just taken two paracetamol, just in case. I feel fine but my arm is already aching. :frolic:

It's so amazing though, they even took me in ahead of the person queuing who had an appointment. :))

That's brilliant, Dice.

I've just booked mine for 10 July (8 weeks after my first) through the central system, so it's in Southampton rather than my local GP. It's less convenient, and although it says second dose I'm slightly concerned about it all matching up to get Pfizer again, but I felt like being certain of getting it earlier was worth the risk of losing out on a more local appointment.

That sounds sensible, Ken. Fingers crossed it’s the same.

My eldest (25) has just had her first. I can’t believe my youngest (18) may have hers by next month if things stay on track!

A less convenient but closer appointment sounds worth it to me.

It's so good to hear of the younger population getting jabbed now too.

My youngest who is 25 is having his on Saturday and that will mean that all my immediate family will have had at least 1 jab.

They're doing the first trial to gather data on a third - booster - jab so will have been given one out of seven different boosters (any of the current authorised vaccines in half or full doses, and a control which is a meningitis vaccine).

My mum keeps asking about you and if you know what you had by now? I couldn't remember but said I thought your sister's trial vaccine had been unveiled as a proper vaccine. Did I make that up? :))

No  my sister got unblinded because she got an offer through work quite early and she'd had the placebo so went and got her AZ vaccine through normal channels. And I've definitely had valneva but the medium strength dose not the high they've taken forward, so now I can be on a 6 month extension trial getting an additional booster. I'll find out more in July.

Ah! Ok, thanks! I will let her know. :))

Not long to wait for more info then. At the moment though do they think you have sufficient antibodies to ward off the worst of an infection?
