Testing times - Covid in 2022

We had a chap like that approach us in a supermarket, Ella. It was actually pretty frightening. He was baa-ing like a sheep, but I doubt he felt like a twat either.

I was chatting to a colleague at the local hospital this morning and admissions for Covid are close to where they were peak pandemic. Looking at the figures, we're way above the national average for cases and there's been a 94% increase in the last 7 days. Marvellous.

When S was in London, someone got in his face telling him he didn’t have to wear the mask anymore. He just replied “oh I’ve got covid, you might want to back up there”. Apparently the guy moved away fast.

Honestly though, how is it anyone else’s business if you’re wearing a mask? You do you, dickheads, and leave people who want to protect themselves a bit more to wear the masks.

I can't understand the mask aggressors at all.

I just went on my usual weekly round of PO, greengrocers, newsagents (x 2), bank and supermarket. The PO still has mask required signs up, and the person working there had one on. One of the newsagents still had the sign but I suspect it was just forgotten. She wasn't wearing a mask and neither was the other newsagent - both of them were pretty lax during the mandate though. Bank, greengrocers and supermarket have removed the signs but almost all staff were masked, and most customers.

I think shops are probably obliged to remove the mask required signs, which were supplied by the state, as it's no longer a legal requirement. I was quite surprised that so many customers were masked, but as I go mid-afternoon mid-week it skews the demographic quite a bit towards the elderly. A lot of younger people were masked too. I'd say 90% over all. I was expecting 50 at most from the feeling I get around me and the news person-on-the-street quotes.

The Bf has covid. Two years to the day when I (probably) had it. Yaaay covid anniversary! We had to rearrange the kitchen man, and cancel a trip to Bath for a friend's birthday. Bah.

He seems OK, bit peaky, tired, coughing and really light sensitive so we're mostly sitting in the dark :lol: I just have to not catch it before my mate's wedding next Sat.

My parents both have it. Dad’s is just like a heavy cold and hopefully won’t get worse or give him health complications. Mum tested positive today but I haven’t spoken to her yet.

I’ve basically stopped wearing a mask now. I put one on in Sainsbury’s the other day because I noticed most old folks had them on. If I went somewhere crowded, I’d wear one.

We no longer have Covid over here. Seriously, it has been fully eradicated. We no longer have to wear masks anywhere except GP's surgery and hospitals and social distancing is a thing of the past. There are rapidly increasing numbers of people going to hospital with respiratory problems but it can't be Covid because, as I mentioned, we no longer have that pesky virus here.

I couldn't order tests at 7 this morning, but managed just now. So who knows what that was about.

We no longer have Covid over here. Seriously, it has been fully eradicated. We no longer have to wear masks anywhere except GP's surgery and hospitals and social distancing is a thing of the past. There are rapidly increasing numbers of people going to hospital with respiratory problems but it can't be Covid because, as I mentioned, we no longer have that pesky virus here.

I had a similar conversation at my gym class yesterday, where we no longer have to sign in for potential contact tracing. This morning someone from Tuesday's class texted to tell us all she tested positive.

I have just tested positive. I didn't feel right yesterday and tested negative but then had a close contact message this morning. Luckily I have worked from home this week. One of my friends said well you don't have to self isolate or test from tomorrow. My response was yes if you don't give a shit about infecting others

I hope you feel ok, Mischief. Honestly so many people I’ve spoken to were really surprised that we tried to keep it from eachother indoors! Turns out we weren’t successful on stopping J getting it from me, but the girls are currently still clear. I know it’s easier in a house of adults, but so many people just seemed bemused that we’d even consider isolating indoors.

My son had it a few weeks ago but as we isolated from each other I didn't get it. I will be isolating from him as he will have to go to work if he tests positive. Let's pretend it's all gone away hey BoJo
