George has had two vaccines which is all that's available to him. My colleague's daughter turned 12 in Dec beauty had covid right before so just booked her first vaccine yesterday- she'd set a reminder to do it.

I will absolutely vaccinate Liv when it opens up for over 5s.

C is 10 and can get the vaccination from the 22nd because of covid at Christmas - I've got a reminder set up as well! To be fair - I've been texted to book about once a week and even got a phone call as well, when they were obviously fine about waiting when I explained.

Everyone I know does seem to be doing it. My sisters have definitely had their kids vaccinated. Joe still needs his second, as his first was delayed by him getting COVID right before it was scheduled, the awkward sod. He'll be getting the second as soon as he can (says 12 weeks after first, which is in mid-April).

The Florida Surgeon General has advised against vaccinating healthy kids against Covid because the benefits don't warrant the risks. I wonder if more states/countries will follow...

Florida have basically been against any anti-Covid measures, IIRC.

Yeah, I'd automatically be doing the opposite that Florida is doing.

Of my friends, I don't know anyone who hasn't had their kids vaccinated. Oh actually, one Mum but that is very 'on brand' for her - she is lovely but a bit tin-foil hat :look: My eldest has had two jabs but nothing for youngest yet - he's the poor sod who has therefore had Covid twice.

I don't know many people here with young kids, but those I do know were vaccinated ASAP.

That’s interesting. My kids (8 and 10) are having their second a week on Monday.

Yes, but I couldn't book it and apparently I have to wait for them to contact me. It's so weird! I've been sent a letter saying I'd receive another letter "shortly" and that was over a month ago. The letter specifically says that I can't book the appointment via 119 and the GP surgery say that it's nothing to do with them and I can't book it that way either. So I've given up for now. I'm left with this seemingly pointless letter and a feeling of frustration.

How frustrating! I hope the appointment letters are through soon.

Yes. I don't think he particularly needs the vaccine before others in his cohort, so if he was medically vulnerable I'd probably try harder to find someone who can shed light on it but as it is I'll wait it out.

Yeah Florida is where the governor was telling students to take off their masks at a press event. The only states that will follow them are the staunch Trumpers.

About half and half here. Though lots have had covid recently so can’t get it anyway.

We had an email via the school saying that the age 5-11 vaccines will start to be offered here next month.

We’re still waiting for Pete’s. I keep chasing the GP surgery up so maybe we’ll find out next week. It’s very haphazard.

That’s great that primary schools are starting to vaccinate. Liv will probably miss hers via school though because she had covid in Feb. I’m struggling to think of many kids in her class who haven’t had covid recently though!

I think it's a bit different here but mine had their first in December (a month or so after they released the under 12 vaccine) and then we all caught covid within a week of them getting their second in January. It was still enough that their experience was very mild (1-1.5 day of symptoms).
Half-ten?! Half-ten?! I've never been up at half-ten! What happens?
