Re: Dementia again
She’s in Stoke Newington. On a bus. With squad cars in pursuit.

Oh, Tex! Tiny fugitive!
It must still be so worrying even though you can locate her now.

Oh Tex, how very stressful. Glad the tracker’s doing it’s job though.

Crikey, Tex! Does she know where she is or where she thinks she’s going? Will they just take her back home?

Re: Dementia again
I don’t think she realises there was a problem. They are about to do a shift change so they will get the night unit to take her home, I’m trying to get someone to meet her. Carer preferably, otherwise neighbour.

Re: Dementia again
I’m fine now thank you. It’s mostly frustrating because she is physically fine and mentally chipper as she doesn’t realise there’s a problem.
There is now a carer waiting so I can stop worrying. The police were (understandably) not keen to take her back to an empty house.

I’m so glad a caret has gone out at this time of night to meet her. I hope she’s home soon.

Re: Dementia again
She is home and I’ve spoken to her. Somewhere in the back of her mind she realises something wasn’t right as she said it was no one’s fault but being driven home in a police car doesn’t seem to have registered as particularly of note.

Re: Dementia again
Lily - can't remember the make of the GPS tracker but I know social services (who were brilliant) got it for for us.
Tex - must have been such a worry but I'm so pleased the tracker is working. Never had a chance to use it with Mr Speedy's aunt as she went into a home shortly after we were given it.
Still tried escaping from there even though she loved it there. She pointed out one of the doors to us once and said "If I try and push that one an alarm goes off and all the carers come running".
As this was said with a grin on her face I suspect she may have done to get the alarm going and the carers running!

Re: Dementia again
Sorry Lily, only just saw your edit. It’s one that Speedy very kindly sent, basically this but a different brand:
https://www.welbeing.org.uk/extra-servi ... s-tracker/
It has an all network SIM card and it’s set up to respond to a series of commands from my mobile (you can link up to 3 mobiles to it). Basically you send it a text and it sends back a google map link to show you where it is at that point. You can also set geofences, speed alerts, fall alerts etc.
ETA It’s a carephone one.
