Honestly this not being able to go into Gloucestershire thing is what is going to make my dad lose the plot. Not lockdown, not pubs closing, not not seeing his daughters and grandsons for christmas, He's taken everything so far but they've crossed the line now. HE CAN'T GO TO GLOUCESTERSHIRE :mog: .

I'm hysterical.

Ugh, god. I would hate that too (the aggressive mask denier, I'm not so bothered about not being allowed into Gloucestershire :)) )

That’s horrid! Surely the shops dont let maskless people in? It’s quite strict in the shops here (although I don’t know about Aldi so maybe it’s down to the individual shops?

Masks aren't compulsory though and anyone can say they have a medical reason to not wear one.

I don't want to be racist, but why would Smal's dad have angst about going there?

I've just read that visitors from Tier 2 will have to follow the rules of their area, not the rules of Tier 1. So I can go to the pub & have just a drink, a visitor from Tier 2 will have to buy a meal with their drink. How the hell is that meant to be monitored? :ruby:

In theory that means I can't go to my son's wedding....In reality, I am going.
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either, just fuck off and leave me alone.

That’s patently unenforceable surely? But bonkers enough to be true clearly.

My workplace is offering mass testing pre-Christmas and you can book two tests which is good. I’m not seeing my parents at Xmas but if I was I would be very tempted to have the tests done. It does go to show that if mass testing actually worked and could be rolled out properly then suddenly lots of things could be opened up again.

It's the best shire! Cheltenham has Holst and Gloucester has Fred West. Wootton-under-Edge is where I took my gecko Dexter to the vet. Fact.

My poor theatre has no idea if shows can go ahead or not due to the bloody 6 people thing not applying indoors so they'll have to rearrange ALL THE SEATS and there's a chance it will prove too tricky. I am so very worried about these salons and hospitality venues which broke their neck(s) putting COVID measures in place, only to be told it's pointless.

It is awful. My wedding venue people reinvented things to offer dine and stay (or just dine) and now one of the venues is in T3 so they can't even restart doing that. It honestly must be like being relentlessly punched in the face. The stress of it.
