Re: Corona Virus

Post by FiveO'Clock »

I have had a sore throat and fatigue since last Saturday. I saw my family for a few hours outside on a deck on Father's Day. Otherwise, I have been no where. R has had a doctor appointment, a trip into a shop and a few visits to the dog park while I've been working (from home). No one else in my family is sick nor has any symptoms, R has no symptoms and keeps more than six feet away and wears a mask when out of the house. My doctor thinks I have a throat virus that's been going around and I don't think I have coronavirus either, but how would I get any virus when I've not had real contact with other people?

I don't know. Do you wash your shopping packaging and parcels and stuff?

In the last two days I've noticed delivery drivers trying to hand parcels to me. Well two of them but that is 100% of delivery drivers in the last two days. When I've politely asked them to put the parcel down both have leaned into the doorway and put the parcels inside. Do they think an opportunist thief will leap out of the ether and steal it from in front of us?

I was made to actually, physically with a pen & clipboard, sign for a delivery yesterday. It threw me so I did it, but pretty much ran to wash my hands afterwards.

Oh god, the first picture in the Mail of people getting their first pints in (with breakfast :ella: ) is of the nearest Spoons to me

My poor friend is on shift at A&E tonight - she's a radiologist so will get all the idiots who get into fights/ fall over as well.

We've been for our early morning walk and by the time we got back to the car park, it was full of suitcase laden 4x4s. There's a small walkway off the beach and not a hint of basic manners, let alone any form of social distancing. Marvelous.

I feel so preemptively sorry for A&E staff today.

I had to do PPE to retrieve and do a Datix report when I found two stuffed in our book return box.

I’m still undecided as to whether the half eaten satsuma or the two masks was more minging. Given that at that time no patients were in the hospital at all, and even if they were, don’t usually come that far off the beaten track, it was likely someone who really should know better.

There are loads of discarded facemasks around along with McD and KFC wrappings and the ubiquitous silver cannisters. It's not as if all the bins are overflowing! People are absolutely disgusting.
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either, just fuck off and leave me alone.

Yep, face masks on the ground, in discarded shopping trolleys, people are pigs. And that's the ones bothering to wear masks!

Face masks and latex gloves are littering everywhere! Gross.

I walked to Northcote Road as it's my nearest Kiehls and I wanted to buy something and take all the recycling I'd stockpiled. It's like nothing ever happened. The restaurants and bars are all RAMMED. No social distancing whatsoever. I came straight home via the back streets!

Yes. I was shocked.

But I also saw a bride and groom waiting to go into Wandsworth Town Hall
