I had 48 hrs of feeling really low, weepy, head coldish with sinus pain, and I obviously had a fever (I felt as if I was having an out-of-body experience) but that passed and from then on in it was like having a low-level head cold that I couldn't quite shake off. I also had a catch at the back of my throat giving me an intermittent dry cough, like my throat was irritated. I worked throughout.

Mr D felt rubbish for 24 hrs but no real temp, he's found that he's exhausted waking up every morning and it's taking about an hr to properly shift.

I was worried about lung issues but we've had nothing like that. I had the flu a few years back and I was breathless for months after.

Thanks for that. Really helpful.
I mean, it might not be that helpful to you but I found it a very helpful and important reminder that uninformed is very different from stupid/not bright.

I think I'd be in favour in wiping out this whole miserable thread. We're all tense and defensive and miscommunicating and I just fucking hate Covid.

You know what, I actually might be in favour of locking this horrible thread now. Hasn't it all been such a fucking nightmare? I'm not surprised everyone has totally had enough.

Is it adding any value now? It's up to you.

It might be of historical value one day I guess.

I think it's easily avoided if someone has had enough of the thread. Why get rid?

I, for one, would be utterly fascinated to read this in a few years time. Or horrified. I can't quite tell.

I'd lock it now, I think the topic has been thoroughly exhausted.

Both I suspect, Luce.

I was hoping we could end it with a big bang when it was all over but that's not going to be how it ends is it. If it ends.

I think my reasoning is that it actually does feel a bit hard to avoid when Covid is such a huge thing still. It might refresh us mentally to not have it in this form anymore.

But, it's up to the majority.

I don't think there's much more to be said about the theory of the whole thing but I'd like a place to know if people who have tested positive etc are ok.

A poll, a poll!

I think being knackered by Covid isn't the same thing as being knackered by this thread. Also, if we don't have one dedicated thread to talk about the damn thing (especially with the ever-changing regulations) then we run the risk of every thread being a Covid thread, but let the court of public opinion decide.

I agree, people will still want to talk about it and this keeps it mostly in one spot.

Yes, I’d like it to stay. Keeps covid more or less contained.

Containment is a good point.

I'd contain it. It can be avoided if we don't want to read it.

Lock this one, start a new one, maybe? 1,000+ page threads always feel a bit unwieldy/untidy/freighted with baggage.

Testing times: Covid in 2022

Pandemic to endemic: 2022 progress report

Etc.

That could be a good compromise. I'll leave it till later for opinions.

I vote to keep this thread open. It's practically a historical record at this stage.

I don't agree that its easy to avoid but that might just be me, it's like poking a sore tooth :))

I do like Bats' suggestion though.

I’d like to keep it, but a new 2022 thread would be ok too.
