We took his brown cords and his favourite jumper, still covered in dog hair. And his dog walking hat, and a pair of ‘no1 dad’ socks. Sorry to derail, but talking about it has actually made me smile a little bit.

That’s so nice Suzi. We did similar with my Dad. He had his favourite chinos full of clicks, and a comfy jumper.

Diccers, when I organised by widowed neighbours funeral I didn’t have a clue what to put her in. The parish Nun suggested we just use a generic burial gown provided by the undertaker. Do they not have that option?

My dad was cremated in a gown/shroud as all his clothes were full of holes and stained. He couldn't care less about how he looked (see above) so it seemed sensible, but I actually feel really bad about it, as if we didn't care about him. I'd never have done that with my mum (who cared a great deal). I think a beautiful blanket is a great idea if clothes aren't an option; it's the last act of nurture you can give someone.

My Dad was never very fancy, and certainly not a suit a tie guy either, but he loved his kilt get-up as his heritage was so important to him.

That is good. I believe the r rate is under 1 in London at the moment. My borough has dropped by about 4000 per 100k. It's still massively high, but still.

Cases in my area have halved from 1560 (last week) to 770 (and our cases have been crazy high for ages).

Our cases are in the 700s now too (a solid plummet), hospitalisations are growing but slowing. Deaths still climbing fast but will surely see those start to stabilise and fall in due course. Lockdown is definitely having an impact, which is great.

Locally we’re plateauing at 169 but my council has had a 1% rise to 286. To be honest, I’m kind of relieved at that though. I had assumed we’d see the same catastrophic rise as the south but not so far. Fingers crossed. I’d really like to be in a tier that opens schools the second they can

P’s workplace have had a few problems with staffing due to cases there leading to lots of alerts/track and trace and isolation. A colleague had a RTW and was told he has to switch his contact tracing off when putting his phone in a locker.

I can sort of see that a whole store’s phones being located together could cause unnecessary alerts amongst colleagues who don’t actually work together, but surely the answer is to let them keep phones on them not some sort of store wide black out!
