Also this was a genuine tweet from the UK Civil Service account. It's been taken down now sadly :fish:

God, I hope that person can claim to be hacked and not lose their job.

Agree re. Castle Barnard too jude! And also, even if it was outside of the 14 days of lockdown, he still travelled 30 miles away to park and walk, which was forbidden at the time.

Thankyou! I figured you’d get it. I mean I realise we’re a northern, non important backwater to all these marvellously intelligent and powerful politicians 🤔 but even murder judges get your name right.

Whoever posted that was just 'following their instinct' so it should be fine.

I honestly can't remember being so impotently fucking furious about politics before.

If I wasn't going to die for going out, I would honestly be up for violent protest in London.

JK Rowling has said she'll give them a year's salary. :))

I think Boris is 100% going to try to ride this out. It's not going to go away overnight but I would put money on him - and Cummings - surviving. A lot depends on whether Labour can force an official investigation. I imagine, sadly, the impact it has on people's adherence to the lockdown might force some action.

It’s the impact on virus transmission that makes me more angry than the lying. If this causes the second wave, fuck them all to hell.

It probably will, won't it. We've been told that we don't need to follow their rules if we don't feel like it.

More than that- we've been told any responsible parent would do as he has.

Are we all being played? What is this distracting from?

I honestly don't think anyone in the current government is that intelligent. I think Cummings gets a lot of credit for being some sort of svengali genius, when actually he's just amoral which affords him semi-mythical status.

I don't think they'd risk Cummings for any distraction, I think this is a massive fuck up rather than a cunning plan. Classic Dom. :ella:

That's what I've been wondering all day, Ella.

And since when has acting on instinct been a defence in law? It might be instinctive to murder a lying git of a politician who has put millions of lives at risk, but the courts would take a dim view.

My nephew was there for the birth of his daughter on Friday night, but now can't go back to the hospital to see her or his gf (who may be in for a week or more), because he had to leave the hospital to look after his other child, Freya, who is 3. She hasn't seen her sister yet, and the new mum is on her own with a newborn who has a few problems. None of us (the wider family) will get to see any of them for the foreseeable future. Yet DC can trot off to a country seat and see who he likes - it's infuriating.

WTF does 'a house on his parents' estate' actually mean, in his case? I'm guessing they don't live in social housing and he was staying round the corner, so that leaves something like a gamekeeper's cottage or a Dower House, doesn't it?

There are loads of photos of the estate in articles Morgs. It's not social housing

No, I thought not :)). Shame, though. It wouldn't do him any harm to go on Rich House, Poor House. I would pay to see that.
