The beginning of lockdown had a sense of novelty about it. “3 weeks of pretending we’re in a zombie film!” We were so naive.

Thing is I think I was realistic in my thoughts from what I was reading and listening to so I never thought it would be over this year or maybe even never! But I guess the nights are drawing in and cases are rising massively and it's freaking me out again. More tea (gin), Vicar?

AND to add salt to the wound, to think that I've always thought I'd be an amazing zombie slayer and survivor if the dead ever walked the land and this has proved I'd be semi tearful and completely fearful peering out of my window like JR Hartley waiting for his Fly Fishing book but less excited.

The thing with zombies though is that you can see them and they lurch a bit. You’ve got a chance of fighting back. Covid is more like taking your chance with invisible zombies who may or may not be in the same room and bite painlessly.
