As I mentioned upthread, even when Mr R had received the text suggesting he book an earlier jab, when he logged in under his booking number the system still only offered the option to cancel and rebook so either they've changed that or I don't know. I just checked for myself under my booking ref and that's still how it is for me too.

Are you booking using the GP hub system rather than the national NHS one, Dizz? Maybe that's different.

I didn't used a booking reference I just logged onto book your Covid jab and entered my details as if it were the first time

I think the ones for two weeks time were through NHS

And Saturdays were through Salford NHS but my drs is Liverpool and my registered address is Liverpool and it still let me book

Have you tried 119

Oh I see. Does your booking confirmation for the new dates recognise them as second jabs ie linked to your first shots so they know which specific vax you need?

Hmm, well I tried to book as if from scratch but as soon as I'd entered my name, dob, postcode etc it asked me for a booking reference.

I'm just going to stick with the walk-in plan for now.

Mr R is double jabbed! :) And confirmed that I'm definitely allowed to get a walk-in after the 9th.

Vaccine twins! :dotty:

My vaccination centre was in a huge hall, more like a hangar, on an industrial estate. An XL vaccination centre apparently. Registration took place at one of 30 or 40 desks and everyone got an orange Pfizer sticker or a pink Moderna sticker slapped on their vaccination card. Further on there were two archways - a pink one with a huge Moderna sign on it and an orange one for Pfizer. You walked through that and reached a long row of cubicles where people with walkie talkies told you which number to go to. It was all rather surreal and also underlined the seriousness of the situation, I felt. I mean, if your country is paying for a huge location like that, completely equipped with all the equipment needed and employing hundreds of people to direct and inject tens of thousands of people a day... It's easy to forget how huge this pandemic is when you're holed up at home but this was a good reminder.
