He was a very cheery Italian chap who was determined to get me my shot and after checking that I was neither a carer or an NHS worker said very pointedly "DO YOU HAVE AN ELDERLY RELATIVE PERHAPS?" :)) :look:

After locking me away for the best part of two years I seem to now no longer make the list for jabs, which is fucking annoying whichever way you look at it.

I served the fucking time you bastards.

This is kind of how I managed to get my free flu jab now rather than October which is when I think 50-65 year olds are supposed to wait until. Basically the Govt has gone back and forth on who's eligible and when (at one point 50-65s were going to be excluded entirely) with the result that the guide book the Boots pharmacist had didn't match the leaflets OR what his system would allow him to do.

I'm hoping my nearby Covid vaccine place will start offering walk-ins to 50+ before the booking system officially lets us. That's usually been what's happened in the past.
Sorry for massive quote post but someone in my street sent this yesterday.

Oh, cool, thanks Cerise. It makes me think that the one near me might do them too and if not then town is easy enough anyway.

I am jabbed
They did me as well as my mum
So my 4th and her 5th

At first they refused as no walk ins but the place was deserted so my mum pleaded to the nurse jabbing her

My records are ticked as an unofficial carer

I'll be 48 on Thursday for the records

I went there this morning and am now done! The Church near me was only taking walk-ins over 60 so I carried on into town. In total that's now 2 x AZ and 2 x Moderna for me.

I'm trying to push Mr R into getting himself sorted now.

My covid booster is booked but the earliest I could get was 20th October. I admit to being worried about the side effects after last time, but maybe it won’t be as bad.

I have tried a couple of times this morning to get through to my doctors about the flu jab but the phones are busy, I can’t even get through to being queued.
It’s like a normal midlife crisis only with more chandeliers and foreign languages.

MrA and I have just booked our boosters, though we have to wait a bit due to recent Covid. 23rd October, both at the same time

Mr D got his 4th today at a walk in centre.

He's 52

I had to call quite a few before I found a local pharmacy that would accept over 50 walk ins

I also had my flu jab there

Mine isn't for a fortnight, in another town and off the beaten track - it's in a pharmacy on a housing estate. I had a flu jab in my own surgery this morning, which is a million times more convenient. M will give me a lift, but if he couldn't do that I'd be stuck.

I got double pronged this afternoon. My flu arm is slightly more sore than my covid arm at present.

Mr R was done for both as a walk in last Monday. No real side effects at all.
