Vaccine (Good) News

Post by smalex »

A vaccine thread!

Think its just Teasel and me of Turtles, though only Teasel is certified to work.

Otherwise I know 2 or 3 hospital workers. And my sister might have had it.

Really hoping Ss nan gets hers, it really should be in the first few weeks

Round up for the record, the two lovely nurses from my walking group who looked after me when I broke my wrist. My Mum's friend who is a biochemist. :love2:

So that's 7ish so far. :))

:))

As per the covid thread, both my parents, my Dad's carer and one of my sisters. Hopefully a rolling tally becomes far too difficult to keep very quickly!

That's good news Bramble! I know of a couple of health care workers who have had it, plus my friend's Dad (over 80).

Smal, is yours in 2 doses too?

My cousin who's currently living in NY has had it. He's a paediatric doctor and his wife, a midwife, had a heart and lung transplant a few years ago, so is extremely vulnerable.

There was mention on the news of not giving the second dose until 12 weeks after so that more people can have the first dose earlier. I don't know how that affects its efectiveness?

Apparently not. Unless some massive events disrupts trade routes and they can't get the second doses imported. :uhh: Tony Blair suggesting it a couple of days ago and was roundly abused by all sides of the political spectrum.

AZ seem to be welcoming that news kiwi, but Pfizer are saying they don't have the data to support a wider gap so I'm not sure really. Let's hope the government aren't, for once, going for optics rather than effectiveness.

I've mentioned this everywhere but my Dad got the first jab today.

He retired but took on a part time job delivering medication for the local chemist at the start of the year. All of their staff received their first dose this afternoon.

Pfizer do not seem keen.

Trust the UK to fuck up something as simple as two doses. Get your ineffective jab here.
