How was NMTZ? That’s still my favourite but I’m going to have to build back up to it, I can hardly walk today I might Shred again in an attempt to loosen myself up a bit. I was thinking of running but even if my legs were up to it it looks horrible out there.

Re: Gargle Your Heart - JM workout
Ooh a Jillian thread!
I’m doing Beginner Shred as I have a rheumatological condition and I’m also very unfit. I did day 5 of workout 1 today. I’m wondering if I should have a day off and do something else but I think my body is progressively less achy afterwards as I go on.
I can’t do press ups (even lady ones) or triceps dips so I’m doing modifications for these.

Really good but I'll be feeling it tomorrow too. Despite 6W6P leading up to xmas man alive did the ab section kill me! My own ab section is looking very good though under my layer of blubber. If I do say so myself.

Re: Gargle Your Heart - JM workout
I love it - it's still tough and I definitely feel it!
There's a list of the exercises on this blog (she did it during chemo  )
https://2lazy4gym.com/2018/06/13/beginner-shred/
This is workout 1
Squat w/ shoulder press (9# DBs)
Single arm row while in a deep lunge, holding both DBs in one hand (8# DBs)
Stationary lunges w/ side lateral straight arm raises (5# DBs)
Chair squat w/ straight arm front raise (4# DBs)
Low impact step out jacks (or full jacks)
Repeat 1-6
Push ups on knees
Supermans using upper body only
Supermans using the lower body only
Bicycle crunch toes tapping floor
Hold bridge isometrically while doing chest press (15# DBs)
Repeat 7-11
Modified elbow plank (on knees)
Donkey kicks on hands and knees
Tricep dips
Straight arm lat pullovers with single straight leg raise (8# DBs)
Squirms (lay on back, knees bent, feet on floor, head/shoulders raises, alternate reaching hands toward heels)
Repeat 13-17

That's new to me. I think I bought 30DS in 2008! The list looks good though. Doesn't sound particularly beginner.

That’s a great blog, it’s really helpful for choosing what to move onto when you’re bored. She does use heavy weights though, I don’t think I’ve ever seen JM or her crew use more than 8lb.nineseven wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 5:52 pmI love it - it's still tough and I definitely feel it!

Shred L1 done. I was still in pain but I know from experience that putting myself through it again is usually the best approach.

No It’s the perfect level for me - I didn’t want Gentle Stretches For The Elderly but I also didn’t want it to actually kill me (or be so hard I’d give up).

Good work tex. Your future self will thank you for it.
Yeah a lot of the time Jillian and crew use 3s even though she can easily "curl 20s" to quote the JM herself.

My future self had better thank me. Current self is really quite cross with me.
How long does it take Nine? Shred is hard but mercifully short.

It’s the same - 20 mins plus warm-up/down.

Re: Gargle Your Heart - JM workout
I decided to have a day off after five days in a row, and did 20 mins HIIT* instead. I am now dead/feeling amazing.

NMTZ again today. I'm knocking the 1WS cardio on the head for a week or so as I've got bursitis, I think.
Hurt my knee about three weeks ago standing on a cardboard box to crush it it's been getting much more painful so I think it needs a rest from impact.

Re: Gargle Your Heart - JM workout
Yeah, it's so annoying. It's hurting when I squat now too, and just aching anyway. It's hot to touch too. That's why I had a two day break over the weekend instead of one.
