I've tested negative again - it's now 48 hours since my meeting with the person who then tested positive, and that's my second LFT. My throat feels a bit scratchy today and I'm tired but I think I'm generally run down at the moment. I was going to meet my mum for a coffee today, but I think I'll cancel that, She usually comes here for dinner on a Sunday so if I'm negative again tomorrow, I think she should be ok to come over.

My dad tested positive this morning. He felt awful yesterday but tested negative. He sounded awful when I spoke to him.

I hope everyone's ok! The rise is worrying.

Is there any official PCR testing these days or is it all purchased LFTs now?

I hope your dad's ok, Emma.

You can't get PCR tests, I don't think, other than maybe in hospitals? We have a stash of LFTs which I built up while they were still free :look:

I hope he’s ok, emma. Can he get the antivirals?

He said he doesn’t meet the requirements on the website but I said he should call the dr anyway to ask. I bet he doesn’t though.

I hope he calls and can get them.

Thanks Sally, I wasn't sure. I have LFTs myself too from when they were free and work.

I hope he’s ok, emma. Can you boss him into calling?

Glad you are testing negative, Sal.

J tested positive this morning - he flew back from Barcelona yesterday where he spent a few days at an industry event with around 4000 attendees, so I can’t say I’m shocked. He just feels completely wiped out. I think he’s actually feeling worse about being isolated but that’s no alternative because A has his last two exams this week and E is doing her Silver DofE, three day hike. His timing couldn’t be much worse, to be honest. I’m devastated about not sleeping in my lovely bed :selfish:

Hope your dad is ok emma_p, and your J too Edith. Pretty much everyone I know who has travelled recently has got it.

How are you doing Sal? I feel ropy today (achy, sniffly) but still testing negative. I was meant to be going to the cinema later but have cancelled as I don’t want to risk it.

I feel terrible, achy with a really sore head and throat, and a bit of a cough. I got a very faint line on a LFT this morning, its almost a relief as there was no line at first and I was beginning to feel like a complete fraud but it's definitely there, even J could see it.

I hope you stay negative Chicky, and you feel better soon.

I hope that’s the worst of it, Sal :fc:.

Fingers crossed for your lot too, Edith.

Strongly positive this morning. Glad I cancelled going to the cinema yesterday! I feel rotten too and am having a logistical nightmare because Mr C is away and the builders are meant to start back today plus I have to sort out getting youngest to his last A level (he has to be there at 0830 on Wednesday which is before the buses could get him there), and Tesco are due later too :panic:

Also are you still meant to report positive LFTs?

Oh no Chicky, sympathy! I did report my positive test and got a few texts back, one about a self isolation grant and another which I could share with contacts (I had already let them know).

Sorry about all the logistics stuff. Can eldests mum not take him to his exam? Tesco will probably just leave stuff outside, they'll have processes in place for this.

Taxi for eldest and shopping can be left outside.

Good plan on both. Youngest(it’s him not eldest, have edited now)’s mum won’t help as she is too Covid cautious but a taxi is a good idea. I’d only got as far as thinking of taking him in my convertible with a mask on and the roof down :look:

I’ll also see if Youngest is about later to help with Tesco, and can ask them to leave stuff at the bottom of the drive if not. And I can shout instructions to the builder as needed.

Are you feeling better today Sal?
