Isn't the point of the letting agent to rectify issues and deduct from the rent handover to the landlord for any costs?

I genuinely have no idea, but if that is true then I will happily go after the LA rather than the LL. Especially if they should legally have fixed this months ago rather than waiting for the LL to sort this out!

The lettings agent contractor came out and "couldn't see the problem". The stupid LA hadn't even looked at the notes from the contractor back in March. A bloke from the council came to look, but said he couldn't do anything unless the leak was active, which it wasn't that day because it's complete unpredictable. The LA then said they would send out ANOTHER contractor to quote for it, but that was 2 weeks ago and I have heard nothing so my laywer SIL has written a letter and I've sent it to the Head of Legal for the landlord. Hopefully that'll put a rocket up their arse as I am sick to death of this.
