As in the town, not the restaurant. Though I suspect the restaurant appreciated his visit!

OH MY GOD.
I really thought you were going to say it was someone that was known there but not here. Buy me wine, Harrison Ford.

Moose and Harrison Ford.
I'm going there now, and if I see neither, I'll be billing you.

Re: Where have you eaten out lately?
That is a great claim to fame!
I was planning on a first trip to Dishoom this weekend, but I've just had a quick look through posts on here and I'm not so sure. There will be no queuing on my part at any rate. Possibly also Wahaccas unless anyone can recommend another Mexican tapas type place near Soho?
I haven't eaten out for eons, quite possibly the last one would have been a Pizza Express.

I haven't been there for a while but I used to like La Perla in Covent Garden for Mexican food.

Harrison Ford! That's so cool.
We had breakfast at a new cafe locally. It was properly good. I had the ubiquitous avo toast, with poached eggs on the side, and they were perfect: https://facebook.com/brewtestament/

If I'm responsible for putting you off Dishoom, please go anyway! I can be a bit grouchy about it but the food is lovely.

Well I didn't like to say Ella but... :)) It's more the idea of queuing that puts me off, but we'll be going to the King's Cross one so maybe slightly less busy. We shall see.

Harrison Ford! Lovely tiny fish restaurants! Vegan teetotallers! This thread has it all.

The King's Cross one might have the worst queues, but they usually move quite quickly so you'll be fine. (Caravan in the same area is also very nice.)

And also the Grain Store next door to Caravan.
I also used to like La Perla though I also haven't been for years (for no real reason) so not sure if it's still as good, but definitely worth checking out.
I went to Foleys http://foleysrestaurant.co.uk/last night. The head chef is a guy who used to be at the Palomar; it's small plates (of course it is) with Asian/Middle Eastern flavours, all quite hot. The best dish we had was the octopus, which was tender and beautiful, and then the cauliflower, and I also really liked the smoked tomatoes which were with the rib eye, and the fennel butter that came with the parotta. I was less excited by the Goan crab taco (the spicing overpowered the crab) and the aubergine, which was just a bit predictable.
I wish it had been slower, too. All the dishes have a massive smack of complex flavour and by the end my mouth felt like my nose does after sniffing loads of different perfumes. I couldn't really taste much when we got to the last couple. If they had come separately, like a tasting menu, with a break between, it would have been better, but obv it's not that formal a place. Of course I could just have slowed down and been less greedy (which did happen towards the end, as I was waiting on a new cocktail to go with the steak dish). I would recommend going, but taking your time.
Cocktail list was gorgeous too. I had an English Garden when I got there ( Portobello Road Gin, elderflower, cucumber syrup, apple juice, lemon, egg white) and later a Chai Old Fashioned with the steak dish (Woodford Reserve Whiskey, chai, blood orange liqueur, Angosturra bitters, maple syrup). They were both excellent.

Ooh. I've been to the Clerkenwell one but didn't realise there was one at Kings Cross too. *mental note*.

Re: Where have you eaten out lately?
Thank you for the recommendations, I am taking notes. I'm interested to see what they've done around there actually, back in the day the only reason to go to Kings Cross was for drugs or rent boys.

It's been basically razed to the ground and rebuilt all fancy. Dancing fountains and everything. No need to worry about stepping on a discarded needle anymore.
