Re: Weekly meals plan
That all sounds gorgeous, Emma. Your kids are so lucky growing up in a foodie environment. My formative years were all convenience food as it was the dawn of freezer foods. My first boyfriend had a foodie mum and my stomach couldn’t handle a lot of the rich food she made having only eaten rissoles, crispy pancakes and other Bejam delights :-(

Re: Weekly meals plan
Most nights Liv has a different version to everyone else. She would love freezer food every night.
Also because I love cooking George has never wanted to cook anything himself beyond crumpets, toast or instant miso soup!

I not sure I cooked much for myself beyond cheese on toast, a boiled egg or jacket potato. This is where it went wrong when I lived in Athens for a year. Apart from the fact the ancient oven didn’t work in the apartment, I wouldn’t have known what to cook as fishfingers didn’t exist in Prisunic ( supermarket)

Re: Weekly meals plan
I had it in my head that these things might skip generations as I learned to cook because my parents were convenience food all the way and her mum cooked everything from scratch. But maybe not!
I think I could have easily survived in Athens on greek salad, dips, pitta and pink wine

Re: Weekly meals plan
I lived on pizza, chicken and chips, lasagne and these toast things which were similar to a panini with choice of filling. And a lot of cake that my students made me. And the filled chocolate hazelnut wafer rolls things. I ate my weight in those.

I can't wait to make it very soon! I'm going to make up some butter and pesto today and once I've bought some peas tomorrow I'll make up a few quantities of stock to have in the freezer.

I've had a really unseasonal yearning for beef casserole this week, Diccers. Also, I really want all your food this week.Disco wrote: ↑Sat Apr 26, 2025 10:23 am Beef shin casserole with mash

Re: Weekly meals plan
All the veg and the shin worlds collide plus I like a hearty meal at the best of times.
I'm not too bad with holes but layers and rows of crowded things, like barnacles, really freak me out so badly. I think it's quite similar. I imagine human skin covered in layers/ rows of teeth like barnacles and I can't deal with the thought of seeing that.
