Re: Hey! Good lookin’!
I finally made the poha rice. Did not disappoint.
There’s also my Christmas cake that I forgot about until my SIL mentioned it yesterday. -

So vibrant Wendy!
Yours too Pip. I haven't touched my Christmas cake either. I've still got to put marzipan on and melt chocolate on it but I might give it one last feed and leave it until easter weekend until I 'ice' and begin consumption.

Looks really good Disco. Good amount of beansprouts.
I made Meera Sodha’s rose harissa chickpea stew with burnt Swiss chard (although my Swiss chard wasn’t burnt because I was too hungry to cook it any longer) I liked it but everyone else prefers the Alison Roman chickpea stew. More veg in this one though.

Today was worthy of a big lunch. Nigella fried chicken sandwich with pink pickled onions.

That looks great Pip. I’d also like Disco’s mirin salmon please.

That looks terrific, Pip! I keep meaning to make this and deciding that it’s too much faff. Is it faffy?
I’ve got shawarma and chips in the oven right now

Re: Hey! Good lookin’!
Thank you. I will get over myself and have a bash then :))
Here is my shawarma with chips, pickled cucumber, caramelised garlic yogurt, tahini yogurt (which tasted just like hummus) and pomegranate drizzle. I passed on pitta because I wasn’t in the mood and I’m really glad because there was loads without it!

That looks amazing!
The fried chicken only needs marinating in the yoghurt for 30 mins if you’re in a rush, like we were last night. Or you can marinate it overnight. Then it’s just a case of frying.

I have entirely forgotten to plan anything for my family to eat this evening. Whoops. I hope past-squirrel has left a gift for future-squirrel in the freezer :beg:.

#prayforfreezerfood.
I'm doing Soupanuary - why yes I have made this up - so I'm having another soup plucked from the freezer tonight. I have no idea what flavour because I haven't labelled them.

Made the Ottolenghi sweet potato shakshuka. Looks terrible, tastes amazing. Really recommend it!
