Anna Jones’ pavlova with Pimms roasted strawberries from the Guardian recently.

You were quick off the mark there Epp! It looks great. I love roasted strawberries  I usually do them sumac roasted or I had an idea to do them with Campari but my recipe needs some tinkering.

Is your plate from West Elm?

That looks lovely Epp!

Today’s spicy Thai salad, without mango because P always forgets something. :ella: There’s plenty of leftovers though so we’ll throw the mango in tomorrow.

And pear and blackberry crumble, to use up a bag of pears.

Pimms-toasted strawberries sound amazing! And that looks gorgeous, Epp.

Your food always looks and sounds really fresh and healthy, Wendy. I’ve been craving crumble with custard lately, and yours looks great.

I’m enjoying being able to get through loads of veg because we’re all having 3 meals a day at home. I can throw all sorts in the order and know it won’t be wasted.

Though Elvis saw the big bowl of chopped veg yesterday lunchtime and declared “MORE vegetables, why is it always vegetables?”. She had beans on toast for dinner (the salad was lunch), which sorted her out.

ETA, I read back a few pages and am now wondering if hippy thinks P and I ate curry straight from the pans.

No, I know you were just using pans for serving! Don’t worry, I don’t think you’re feral.

I made the salty chocolate cookies last night (at about 10pm 🤪 ) thank you! They are gorgeous. I used 70% dark chocolate which worked well. I’m meeting friends for socially distant garden drinks this eve, one is a chocaholic and one is gluten free so these are perfect to take with me.

I made half the recipe and it made a huge plate full, the recipe said it made 24 and I got at least that many from half the quantity. Not sure if I read something wrong but I used a heaped teaspoon of mixture per cookie.

I'm glad you like them, they sound perfect for your friend. I made the whole amount and it did make absolutely loads :ready: I have two cookie sheets but had to do about 3 batches even so.

Those look really nice, and indirectly reminded me of this article.

Did Instagram ruin the chocolate chip cookie?

Excellent cookie action!

Today is mainly leftovers, but Sproglette made shortbread.

Lovely shortbread. I think that might be my favourite biscuit.

The cookies look lovely too, Squirrel. I made a batch too and it made loads! Easily over 30.

Ooh they look lovely, Squirrel and emma! Gluten free too, I will definitely try those!

Going back to olive and friands, I had never heard of them until one of my trips back to NZ and then discovered every coffeeshop had them, so I definitely think they're an antipodean thing.

I am going to make Mr L some Jammy Dodger blondies as a Father's day treat, so will be interested in how they turn out.

Those cookies definitely appeal. Maybe at the weekend.

I forgot to photograph my tea ( spaghetti and meatballs: turns out ( making) pasta and humidity are not great bedfellows) but here are my baguettes from this morning. Much better than last time. :))
