Wow, that all looks amazing Goat. I am so keen to go to San Sebastian and you're just making me feel even more enthusiastic.

Where did he go, Jet?

I'd love to see the photos/hear about Choco. Also glad you had a good experience after 100 Maneiras!

Definitely go, Cos. It's really lovely and so many great places to eat beyond the fancy ones. We had some amazing pintxos too, and fresh grilled turbot and txakoli in Getaria, and cider. I'd go back in a heartbeat; we were there for 5 nights I think, and still there was loads we didn't get done: I made mental note of all the bars I wanted to go back to but a few were closed on the night we tried to do that.

We had 5 (or maybe 4) nights in Bilbao too, which I also really enjoyed.

He was in San Sebastián and some other places surrounding. He walked the city streets with Juan Mari Arzak (who he knows) and his daughter for pintxos and there were lots of meals out with various others...authors, a shipwright and some chefs. He also went to a txokos.

I'd love to have managed to fit in Extebarri too; I looked at it but it's such a long way from anywhere. And Elkano and Mugaritz and Arzak. There's too many! Plus, I'm not sure I could eat at two three star places without being very itchy about it even if I were very rich. But I would go back another time and try one of the others. I think they went to Extebarri in The Trip too, although I've not seen it, and a place in Getaria where I booked a table, they confirmed, and then emailed me the day before to say sorry, forgot we're actually closed that day. :lg: We managed to walk in somewhere else though so no problem.

Obviously Goat has won the thread and no further input is needed.

HOWEVER. I just discovered part bake breadsticks + garlic butter + oregano + pecorino = the amazing breadsticks from our Florida holiday.

Random picture just because it was really really nice, side of salmon baked in the oven with soy sauce, lemon, capers, salt, pepper and garlic. With king prawns on the top.

It was lush! We ended up just having a tomato and onion salad with it which was actually really nice. And there's loads of salmon left for pack lunches tomorrow too! Bonus!

Is it wrong to eat an entire burrata? I could have opened it in a prettier way I suppose but I wanted max coverage. There are tomatoes, avocado and an olive oil bread rubbed with garlic underneath.

Not wrong at all, I've done it twice in my life and would do again. Once with a peach.
