Re: Weekly meals plan
My mum used to make us eat toast or cereal every night on the week before Christmas so we'd enjoy our Christmas dinner more. You could just eat boiled veg. every night, Dic.

I could...
Does your mum still have toast dinners leading up to Christmas? Your name must feel very festive to you, Toast. :))

Haha!
I was wondering that as I typed it. I'll ask her and find out if she still has her dinner on the dot of 6pm!

Re: Weekly meals plan
Did you mind, Toast? Or did it feel like part of the build up to Christmas?
( Starting yesterday)
Steamed sea bream w/ ginger and spring onion, rice, Broc
Saltimbocca, salad, bread
Pasta en brodo ( because I ordered some nice fresh chicken stock for Christmas day gravy but it's got a use by date of 22nd and can't be frozen )
Veggie chilli
Double bacon cheeseburger and chips
CHRISTMAS.

No, I didn't mind at all! I think there was probably the odd sausage roll from the butcher thrown in or a bag of chips too so not quite as bad as I'm making it sound.

Re: Weekly meals plan
I need to start planning as I have to empty my freezer in three months (for the new kitchen) and I need to start actively trying to eat everything in it and stop buying new stuff.
Gorgonzola and walnut ravioli
Crispy chilli turkey and udon noodles
Keema and rice
Fish fingers, chips and beans
Jamie's proper bloke's :ella: fusilli
Jerk chicken, rice and peas

Re: Weekly meals plan
I think that "bloke's pasta" has been silently re-named on the JO website. It is well lush though.
Celeriac soup
Fish tacos
Carrot and coriander soup
Vietnamese chicken noodle soup
Mirin glazed salmon
Cream of curried swede soup
I know it's soup heavy but I've got loads of vegetables and it's easy for me to not have to think about it as work is really busy

Re: Weekly meals plan
Next week:
Spiced pea and potato rolls
Sausage, bean and gnocchi bake
Fish pie
Korean Style Beef Tacos
Beef and tomato soup with bread (Lunches)
The fish pie and the gnocchi bake will do two days.

Re: Weekly meals plan
I am being slow at meal planning as I've had the pox and have been eating what I fancy on the day, but so for from today on:
Red mullet, potato & celeriac boulangere, maybe a bean salad on the side
Celeriac and aubergine moussaka with roast savoy cabbage
Veg sausage and lentil stew
I would like to have a selection of soups a la Disco but I don't think M would consider that an evening meal.

Likewise M is having other, easy meals like beans on toast and things I've previously made from the freezer.

Re: Weekly meals plan
Not Covid pox but amazingly similar, there seems to be some weird similar flu like virus going round down here. Unless we've all got a new Covid that's undetectable.
