I know what you mean, Morgs. Often I think it’s best just to have a slightly smaller portion of a normal thing, maybe with a side that’s super low calorie, like a salad or something. I don’t think I’ve ever had gurnard, Goat, but that looks nice.
I also used up leftovers. A kind of ham carbonara with peas.
This looks so tasty. I forgot about carbonara and may need to make some.

It was good. I'm sure an Italian wouldn't consider it a carbonara, but I prefer it with some vegetables through. This was the recipe I used:

I may have to alter my dinner plans.

I love a carbonara but some in this house don't consider it a full meal so I tend to save it for when it's just me.

This is proper fridge clear out food: red gurnard with tomatoes, garlic, capers, spinach and whatever else needed eating, and a slaw made with malingering sprouts.
For me a fridge clear out would normally be elderly yoghurt, geriatric eggs and somewhat bendy carrots

I don't make the full meal rules.
There were two bendy carrots in the slaw.

What does Mr G favour alongside his carbonara, Goat?
I really want carbonara now but we agreed on salmon with pesto and pasta at our morning standup. I'll try to remember to take a photo.

Who do you have a morning stand up with to decide on your dinner, Toast? Sounds very official!

I was being silly really but we do jokingly refer to it as that. We do a work standup every morning and then my housemate E and I talk about what else we need to do that day including what's for dinner.

Here’s my very early doors, Ashley-inspired spaghetti carbonara. With tenderstem broccoli, just as the Italians would serve it
It was DELICIOUS, if a bit brown.

I love the morning stand up. I wish my housemates would do that to discuss meals.
Leftover lasagne was even nicer than day #1 lasagne.

Living with your best friend has a lot of advantages!
The lasagne looks great. What does MIL think of your lasagne, Pip?
My salmon thing was a bust so no photo.
