Re: Hey! Good lookin’!
I made onion soup today (a slow cooker recipe which worked well). Instead of the more usual gruyere topped baguette, I added gruyere topped potato and rosemary sourdough (as it needed using up). Not good looking but tasted good.

I made Anna Jones'Xmas eve savoy and roast garlic gratin yesterday and it was fabulous, the inclusion of chestnuts in particular; half a cabbage made enough for the two of us and I used comte instead of cheddar. We just had it on its own but it would be a lovely side to go with something like roast chicken. As ever with her recipes, season as you go.

I’ve been meaning to try this smoked tofu and sauerkraut recipe for AGES and finally got round to it.
It’s missing a couple of figs but was good, and I’m not sure if they would have enhanced it or not.

I made this caramel pork mince last night and the recipe suggestion of chunks of cucumber and tomato on the side worked surprisingly well. I also had the most incredible gelato last week when we were on holiday - it’s a scoop of condensed milk flavour on top of a scoop of coconut, lime curd and meringue.

Not the most amazing picture but P made bao buns in the steamer, which we stuffed with home pickled veg and tempeh.

Those look good!
Here are a couple of recent things…crispy tofu with roasted broccoli and homemade teriyaki sauce (really good…I’ve eaten it at least 3 times since!) and an all day slow cooker sauce with pork butt, Italian sausage and meatballs.

And from today…I made sesame candy - I only did two types because I couldn’t get enough black sesame seeds today (I assume because others had the same idea).
And then buttery lemon pasta with almonds and arugula.

Homemade bao buns look great. And I’m intrigued by sesame candy.
Really basic here but I made sausage rolls for lunchboxes (new school year started today)

Share the recipe, Est, please? D loves chicken and rice and I need something to keep him away from a bland vietnamese chicken rice soup he's obsessed with making...
