Re: Recent discoveries
Popping candy came out in the 70s. Space dust. It was grim back then.

Popping Candy (Space Dust) was thing when I was a kid and I am almost 54
I’m always surprised at the number of otherwise excellent restaurants that include it in desserts.

That chef with the awful hair liked to use it a lot, didn’t he? As though it was something fancy.

Re: Recent discoveries
I bought a couple of the banoffee ones the other week, as I also couldn't justify the ruining of the cherry with the popping candy. I thought the banoffee was quite nice, but I haven't eaten chocolate for ages* so my standards may have lowered.
I have discovered the M&S tiffin and salted caramel millionaires shortbread and need to immediately forget about them
*not for any particular reason, I'm just more about the crisp.

I have high hopes for these, just purchased in Coop on offer. They will be going into my stash and we will see how long I can resist them.

I was disappointed by cherry jaffa cakes which is surprising as I love cherry flavoured things usually. The passion fruit ones were amazing though. I think they might have been limited edition though.

I was disappointed by them too, Montana. The cherry ones you get in LIDL when they're doing Polish food week are much superior.
