Mr P and I went to Pollen Street Social a couple of weeks ago for dinner and we both really liked it, the atmosphere may be entirely different in the evening. We did the tasting menu with the matching wines though and it was one of the best pairings I have had recently - and the sommelier was great. I really want to try Little Social though, possibly for lunch.

Last night, we went to our local for a supper club takeover evening by http://www.lupinslondon.com/ - and it was really, really good. Everything we ate was fresh and vibrant and really amazing value - we're definitely going to try the actual restaurant in London Bridge soon. Very highly recommended.

That menu sounds gorgeous, Flora. I will put that on my List. And it's right by Crossbones. :love2:

That's what we did (but at lunch). Did you get The Game (the box thing)? What I did really like about the place was that the clientele was overwhelmingly female.

I'll look out for that place in London Bridge!

We really enjoyed The Game, although I was massively confused when it came out as when I saw it on the menu I assumed it was game of the pheasant or something variety  Did you both get the vegetarian tasting menu? I've just had a quick swizz at it compared with the normal one and the stand out dishes for both of us were the seafood, fish and meat ones.

What we did also comment on when we were there that I think it would make quite a difference where you were sat in the restaurant - we happened to be seated in the bar area which initially I wasn't that keen on, but actually quite liked by the end of the evening.

Yes, we're both vegetarian. The food was good; I don't know. I think maybe it was just a wet Saturday!

We ate here at the weekend: https://www.apollonianhotel.com.au The food is not fancy, but it was good and the grounds are lovely. However we had a long wait for food as there was a Schnauzer owners meet up there too and they were very busy. But we got to pat a lot of lovely dogs which was nice (the dogs were all outside!)

We usually opt for here if we're child free (rare) - http://www.doughpizzeria.com/ but it's conveniently right beside a pay by the hour kids playplace

We don't get to eat out much without the kids so not much to report but we did eat here when we had a few days to ourselves in Scotland - http://www.mackayshotel.co.uk/bar-resta ... -1-bistro/

I was going to show you our favourite italian place but I've just discovered it closed down  One of our other local italian places closed down a few years ago too, so we're not doing well for italian apparently. Thankfully Mr J scoped our how they make their amazing lasagne first but I will miss their butternut squash asiago tortelacci (sp).

Ha, Jet, our local go to place (http://www.northlakessports.com.au/faci ... rant-deck/)
is chosen not for the atmosphere, but because it has a kids club which offers 2 hours of free childminding for members!

I just remembered the actual last place we ate out was Wagamama. I love the Bang Bang Cauliflower.

My latest meals out have been Wagamama, Pizza Express, Chimichanga, TGI Friday and the local world buffet place :)).

I did go to http://www.theduckandwillowbristol.co.uk the other week, which gets good reviews but seems to be a bit hit and miss. I had a really nice salad and the burgers are lush, but a couple of my friends were disappointed with their choices. They do the most incredible sticky toffee bread and butter pudding though :ready:.

My last meal out was brunch yesterday, as I hadn't bothered eating before a mid-morning dentist's appointment. I had the vegetarian breakfast (minus the grilled tomato :ttth: ) at our local Cote. It was lovely (two poached eggs on sourdough toast, avocado, spinach, mushroom and a veggie sausage).

I like the Duck & Willow but my friend (who can be a bit fussy) finds it a bit hit and miss too.

I can thoroughly recommend Lupins, too. We went to their restaurant at Flatiron Square in June and it was one of the best meals I've had in London (in the times I've been back recently, at least). It all comes out of this tiny kitchen too with just a chef and a sous, really impressive. We sat at the bar which looks directly at the kitchen, which was cool.

Have you been to the Gloucester Old Spot (sister restaurant)? I've only been a couple of times but really liked it.

The last two places I ate in Beijing were here: https://www.palmsla.com which has a location in my apartment building. I haven't actually tried it before as it looked a bit ahjr dekm the outside, but it was actually really good, and has a decent cocktail menu. It's California style Mexican/Korean fusion - so not exactly getting under the skin of Chinese cuisine  but for an easy place to grab dinner (now) I'm quite pleased. I am looking forward to their bibimbap.

And as mentioned on the food pic thread, last nights burger was from this local brewery: http://www.slowboatbrewery.com

I think I need to try a bit harder to eat some scary unidentifiable Chinese food!

Also I went to The Stable last week (there's a few around) which did really good pizza.

And also a place which did really overpriced food that was a bit rubbish. My dish was supposed to come with king prawns on the top (so clearly visible) but it didn't. First waiter glanced over and said "yeah, there's prawns in that". I searched through, couldn't find any, and called over someone else who then took it away. It returned with two rubbery prawns on top. When the second waiter brought the bill, he said that he thought I was vegetarian because another table was so they'd taken the prawns off. Very bizarre.

Was it the one on S'hall street? WJ and I were in there the other day and the service was very slow, the food was decent enough but I wouldn't have liked to have been eating there when I had a short amount of time.

I went here with my parents and S recently, it was very nice: http://www.brianmaule.com/
